  1. No advice, but just wanted to send a hug
  2. You and Pete and Smiley are in my thoughts. I hope the surgery is uneventful and that the results are good.
  3. Glad to hear the x-rays showed better news, I hope she continues to feel better!
  4. Just saw this Cynthia, I hope you have good news back from the vet soon - and I hope he feels better already!
  5. Sending many many good thoughts, all that I can find to send. It is an infection, only an infection, and the antibiotics will quickly knock it out. Everything will be ok.
  6. Good girl Jaynie! Glad she is out of anesthesia, and I know her weepy incision will be all better in no time!
  7. He is still kind of groggy from the pain meds but he is home! He ate a little bit of food, has had some water, went outside to potty (big D from the IV antibiotics, poor guy!) and is now back on his blankie snoozing. I am going to sleep downstairs on the air mattress tonight so that I can keep an eye on him. I'm so happy to have my sweet old man back at home! (here is he is on the drive home, you can't see his shaved belly and his swollen leg from where his IV caused edema, but he looks great!)
  8. Lots of good thoughts coming to Jaynie for an uneventful surgery and a fast recovery.
  9. Update 10/18 Waiting to hear back from the vet. I spoke with the vet tech this morning and Iceman ate his breakfast and has been drinking water and keeping it down. I am hopeful that he will come home today. Keep sending good thoughts! Looking forward to my Iceman snuggles tonight!
  10. Update 10/17 Iceman is doing well, he is alert and walking outside to potty. They are going to keep him one more night. He hasn't eaten since Thursday night (he refused breakfast yesterday and the vet didn't want to feed him last night or this morning to give his tummy time to settle) so they are going to give him some water to see how he holds it down (he has been on IV fluids) and then give him some bland food and see how he does with it. The vet redid his bloodwork and his liver values are still high, but MUCH better today. His Bilirubin is almost normal again so this is really really good news. She redid the ultrasound and still sees the "spots" on his liver but she isn't sure what it is and she isn't sure she wants to anesthetize him to biopsy since he is improving - it is possible it is just old man liver or hepatitis (how do dogs get hepatitis?) so we are going to continue watching him and decide if we want to biopsy. I am VERY hopeful that I will have my old man home tomorrow. If he holds down his food and continues to improve, we will be snuggling tomorrow afternoon!
  11. No news yet, I am waiting on a call back. Still hoping for good news.
  12. No answers. Ultrasound looks ok. Gallbladder intact. Liver is spotty but nothing obviously wrong. He is staying overnight. Hoping he feels 100% better tomorrow and can come home.

We took iceman to vet this morning. Lethargy, vomiting. Would not eat. Ruled out pancretitis and sent us to evet internal med specialist. Waiting for results of ultrasound. Suspect ruptured gallbladder or liver failure. Send good thoughts. I am not finished snuggling my old man yet.
