Unfortunately, the CD-rom on the computer I'm using has been disabled...may be a while before I can pictures of my guy.

Hi everybody! I only learned about this forum when I was getting ready to move to Virginia Beach (maybe because I didn't have a home computer?). My retired racer, Davis, found his forever home on 9/15/2007. He had broken his leg racing at Dairyland Track in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He spent 2 months in foster care, before I got to fall in love with him (love at first site, of course!). I adopted him through Greyhound Pets of America - Wisconsin, because for the last 7 years I have lived in Madison, Wisconsin. We just moved to VA about a week ago. I have been unemployed for several months, and my sister who lives in VA Beach has a spare bedroom. Even though she has never had a dog in her house, she graciously invited both of us to move in with her and her husband until I can find work and get myself established down here. Hurray for sisters! They have a second comuter, in my bedroom, that has internet access, and Have I been enjoying searching all the greyhound websites! About my main man: he is a black, 4-year-old male who often gets mistaken for an elderly gentleman, as his muzzle has gone grey early. His broked leg has healed well, and he loves to play chase with other dogs at the dog parks. He is so fun to watch. He acts goofy sometimes ( so then I call him Goofus), and sometimes he will just leap up and race in a circle or figure-8 just for the sheer joy of running.Fortunately, I have found a couple that are not far from where my sister lives, and we have been going almost daily since I fould them. Needless to say, he brings a lot of joy to my life. As for me, the less important party, I enjoy the outdoors. I used to do some canoeing, but not lately. I like taking walks and day hikes in state parks and forests. I also enjoy reading and working puzzles. I attempt crossowrd uzzles, and am OK at cryptoquips and sudoku, and like to try other word games on occasion. Hope this isn't TMI.....

My brother-in-law has monkeyed with the computer in the room I'm using, so I've only had internet access for a few days. When I tried to put my CD with pictures in, it wouldn't open. Turns out he's got 2 hard drives on this thing & he doesn't know which one works. So....the CD drive is unavailable until sometime in the next decade when he gets around to working on it. (I'm not exagerating too much...the guest bathroom has been "uder renovation" for the last few years. When I came for a visit last march, the tub & shower were hooked up, and although the toilet had been sitting in the bathroom for months, they didn't hook it up until the evening of the day I arrived! The sink is sitting in the hallway outside the bathroom, so who knows when it will get installed! Ah well, beggars can't be choosy...I've been unemployed for a few months & was running out of money, so my sister invited me down here to stay until I can get on my feet. She's never been comfortable around dogs before, but gets along great with Davis! And why shouldn't she? He's such a sweetheart!

Greyt!!! I've been checking websites and posting queries on different forums, so it's great to finally get a responseA And from a neighbor too! My sister lives in the Level Green neighborhood, which is a part of College Park, so we are close by! We'll hve to talk sometime and get together with our greys! Thank you so much! Rebecca

Hi. My greyhound Davis and I just moved to Virginia Beach from Madison, Wisconsin. The vets I used there were actively involved with GPA-WI and they and many of their staff had greyhounds. From the adoption coordinator at GPA-WI I was reffered to this website, that people here could give me referals and/or tips on how to locate a veternarian with greyhound experience. Can anyone help?
