  1. My guy never got sick on either. The only way I got rid of the hookworms was 2 interceptor a month, every 15 days for 3 months. I started doing this after 6 months on and off panacur and drontal and it not working.
  2. I am so sorry that Cosmo is not doing better.
  3. A pulled muscle would cause this? Wow, gotta keep that in the back of my mind just in case.
  4. What a beautiful Annie. Bless you for giving her a wonderful last year. Run Free Annie.
  5. I would get it checked. Looks like when my Peaches had the internal bleeding issue. Better to be safe than sorry especially if you don't know if he fell or something. Check his gums, are they white or still red? Could also be a sign of internal bleeding.
  6. Welcome. Your hounds are beautiful, They seem to adore each other.

    Fly Baby Dodge

I'm sorry for your loss. Run free Dodge.
  8. Sending lots of hope and prayers your way that the results come back clean. I just went thru something similar with the spleen (hole in spleen, internal bleeding, spleen removed) all came back good. My girl is doing well 3 weeks post op. Good Luck and I'll be thinking of you.
  9. Everything I have read is increased chance of infection and cancer. Wondering if there is a special diet that could be better, perhaps supplements.
  10. I am sorry for your loss. Run free Ivy!
  11. I have recently adopted a new grey and she had her spleen removed at the time she was spayed. When the vet opened her up to do the spay she was bleeding internally and it was found that there was a hole in her spleen. They removed the spleen, which was sent to pathology, no cancer (Thank goodness). Does anyone have any experience with this? I will be taking her to my vet on Friday, but wanted to hear from you all. I will also be consulting with OSU in the near future. Thanks.

I am so sorry to hear this.
  13. Praying for Reggie. We are thinking of you and sending lots of hope.
  14. I really started to read these threads when my girl got sick in the spring. Not a day goes by that I read something sad and shed tears and I read something or see a funny picture and shed tears of happiness. Being a part of GT is a great resource, but to see the pain that so many of us have gone thru losing our hounds. Godspeed all the pups lost and run free. Happiness comes when we realize that all our lost hounds are romping and playing together. Hugs to everyone.
  15. Run free Jed. I am so very sorry for your loss.
  16. I hope Mandy is feeling better this morning.
  17. When Stetson ripped his nail off I just cleaned it up until the bleeding stopped. In the house I left it open to air and when he went out I put a pawz on him. I think that is what it is called, used in the winter to protect their feet from the salt.
  18. I have no advice, as I can only imagine how hard this is for you. I'm all teary eyed reading this. What you are doing is for the well being of Pep. There is no reason you can't just try this out and see what happens. I can't even imagine being in your situation. Whatever you decide we are all here on GT to support you.
  19. send an email to OSU and tell them what the vet said, get their opinion.
  20. From my understanding bloat is not something that comes and goes. Bloat is when the stomach flips and cuts of everything moving in and out of the stomach. An animal does not last for more than a few hours if it is not treated immediately.
  21. Welcome - Maverick is a very handsome boy.
  22. Beautiful rememberance of Kylie on her Gotcha Day. Kylie is a beautiful girl and so sweet.

What a beautiful girl. I am so sorry for your loss. It will get better, cherish the memories, they are what will bring you comfort. I went thru the same thing as you just over a month ago. Hang in there.
