  1. My heart truly goes out to you Xan, she taught so many of us so many valuable lessons we should have learned long ago.

God speed to you baby girl, there truly must have been a job waiting that only you could do. You were one who there was never a question as to why you were here on earth.

    Rest well, you deserve peace

  2. The EPA Factsheet is dated 2004

    http://www.epa.gov/o...ailerfactsh.pdf

my frontline is from Petshed - so I got out the box and went through the list of things to check. Some match and some down. The skeptic in me is inclined to think the package differences are due to international differences.

    the Petshed website clearly says:

Frontline Plus has been approved for sale in Australia by the APVMA. The US equivalent of this product has been approved for sale by the EPA.

Both the Australian and US products contain the same active ingredients, Fipronil & (S)-Methoprene.

However, the products sold by Pet Shed are sold in Australian packaging which has not been approved for sale in the US. As a consequence, the Australian packaging does not have EPA approval and the sale and purchase of products in the Australian packaging may be illegal in the US.

(and I've known that). And I know a lot of people order from Petshed.

    Thoughts?

Hope you're right about the packaging but there are some GH people on Facebook who were involved in the death of one of the dogs so I would rather be safe than sorry and never take a chance.

I have the box from Australia but haven't even opened it yet as I stopped using it months ago, but will discard the product

  3. I just adopted a 2yr old and had trouble teaching her to pee outside, and I have a fenced yard. Not relying on the dog door, I would bring her out with the other 3 every couple of hours and it was very evident to me that she did not understand what she was supposed to do.

So it took a lot of time and patience and once she did pee, I would praise her and give her a special treat. Took almost a week for her to get it, but she did get it and now uses the dog door and knows to pee outside.

Hang in there, she will get it, carry some treats with you and when she finally does go, give her a treat and praise her. And good luck!

  4. Given your description, it honestly doesn't sound anything like a Deramaxx reaction or perforated ulcer. It sounds a lot more like a cancer such as hemangiosarcoma or histiocytosis with multiple lesions affecting the digestive system and spinal cord.

If you cruise the internet, you can find similar stories for almost any drug, supplement, food, or treat on the market.

Please don't torture yourself. You took good care of your girl. I'm so sorry that you don't have better answers, and that she couldn't stay longer with you.

    I agree with Batmom

    Totally agree!

    I am so sorry sad.gif

  5. If only there was a right answer to this question. I ask myself this every time I feel I am about to lose one, and my answer to myself is always the same, they will let us know, each in their own way.

My heart goes out to you as you face the most difficult decision, but try to remember, what ever decision you make, it will be made out of love, and that is never wrong

  6. I missed the original story as well Kevin, I know your dedication to your kidz and am so glad to read things went so well for your little man wub.gif

And I will never forget your kindness to me over the years, and your work has brought so much joy into my home.

    Be well my friend

    Claudia

  7. Unless he has particular health conditions, dentals and anaesthesia will be safe for his whole life. He's nowhere near old.

:nod Yep. I always have a blood panel done before any kind of general surgery, regardless of age.

Same here, and actually my vet insists on it. Having many senior dentals done, I am usually confident and worry more about what bad teeth can do to their health.

  8. I am not used to crates but I would imagine there is only so much water you can put in there. Any chance you can baby gate her somewhere that you can leave a larger bowl/pale of water?

My first thought wouldn't be Cushings, unless you've noticed a huge change in her appetite, but if you're having the ACTH done, you'll know.My little girl never had the belly nor any thinning of hair but she battled Cushings for a year.

Hopefully you'll have an answer and I hope you can come up with a solution for the water so you can get some sleep, and she can get the water she needs right now
