  1. Over the last month or so there has been an increase in the number of “accidents” in our house, primarily in the basement. I assumed it was Silver since he has an affinity for peeing on Christmas trees and Lily hasn’t had an accident in a very long time. Since we couldn’t scold either of them without catching them in the act, we have been watching Silver very carefully in the off-chance that we could catch him, give him a “NO!” and then he would know forever that he couldn’t do that in the basement. Weeks go by and we still can’t catch him and there are still #2s in the basement. More cleaning, more Febreeze candles, etc. And then last night there was success!!! DH and I were watching American Idol and guess who saunters over and squats next to the weight bench?! I couldn’t believe it! That little Stinker!!! She received a stern “NO!” from me, and a “HEY!” from DH at the same time and she slinked upstairs where I let her out to finish her business. Success! I hope this is the end of Lily’s indoor-toilet.
  2. Yeah - looks like I'm going to have to put an x-pen around it next year or the bells! I like that idea - "every time a bell rings an angel gets it's wings..." and Silver pees on a tree!
  3. Silver is a very good boy who is happy that we brought in an indoor tree-toilet for this frosty season. He has peed on the tree 4 times now since it's been up and it's always when we aren't looking and two times it has been right after he has been outside. And every time it has been when I am not home, but DH is home. If I could catch him in the act I could tell him "NO!" but so far he has eluded us. Any tips? Has anyone else's tree been tinkled on?
  4. Hi Samantha! She is very cute. I have a geezer-cat too! Mine also likes to sleep in a basket on the dining room table....
  5. I'm glad he stays put too! I picked up the crate last Saturday and couldn't look at it without . Lol. Lily is happy because she has someone to boss around Me too
  6. Thanks for all the nice posts, guys! It's true, he is super cute and he in fact has beautiful eyes and very cute eye brows. We love him to bits. Yeah, he was hard to let go Teehee. It actually had little to do with me pressuring Kris and lots to do with Silver's special relationship with one of our cats. They've hit it off, and it was actually KRIS who made the final move to keep him, if you can believe that. It's underway. Nope it's a lake and it is in Ontario, which practically makes us neighbors! I wish we had a pool here in Winnipeg though...
  7. Introducing Silver! He is a very good boy who came upon us by chance (he was bounced and we were keeping him temporarily - yeah right) and now he is here for good! Silver turned 3 this past August and is an absolute sweetheart to have around. He gets along great with Lily and all three cats and we couldn't have asked for a better guy. Welcome Home Silver!!
  8. I bought a hammock but I don't like it. It just doesn't fit right. We have a Subaru Forester, and it seems that not enough of the material actually touches the seat - not very comfortable. It would work better in a vehicle with a smaller back seat IMHO.
  9. I am so sorry. :grouphug Please don't feel guilty. Sometimes the hardest decisions hurt the most. You did what was best for him.
  10. We do now! Lily had no interest in the furniture until our foster, Calypso, decided to show her the ropes! They love the couch. weeee lubs da cowch!! Although, I am not entirely keen on letting Lily on the couch. She is a bit space aggressive when she sleeps and I don't want it to be an issue. Calypso, however, LOVES cuddling on the couch and so do I.

How terrible! I am so sorry.
  12. I am so glad Emmy is safe. Her poor little feet! She looks like such a little trooper in her socks. :grouphug As for the landscapers. There are no words. I can only imagine how livid you must be. Maybe save some dog poop. If it's OK for them to pee on your house, it must be fine for you to leave a nice present under the seat of their truck! Mauahahaha!!! what's that smell.....?
  13. I'm sorry - I haven't been following Alan, but has he had seizures in the past? If he is still acting strange I'd go to the vet. Better safe than sorry. Was he OK with the ice cream?
  14. Oh no! I am so sorry this happened to you and Diamond. Glad the other dogs are alright. Wow. The other dog owner sounds like a moron! I hope it all turns out OK in the end. :grouphug
  15. So much at once... for all of you.
  16. Grey-sitting is great, and so is offering to take greys for walks while their owners are at work. :grouphug Sounds like Cherry was a very loved hound.
  17. Oh no. Hugs for you and scritches for Merlin
  18. What great news! I hope she heals quickly and easily! and gentle scritches for sweet Maggie.
  19. Oh no! I am so sorry to read this. Thinking of you this evening while Isis passes peacefully to the bridge.
