    Erda

Erda-Feb.1995 to Oct. 13, 2007 I can not write too much right now...My heart is in so much pain. You were a beautiful Rottweiler lady with the name Erda (Earth Goddess). You have helped other furry friends to go to the rainbow bridge, both by letting them cuddle to you for warmth and your licks of love. You lost your battle with cancer after a long valiant fight. You had a front leg amputated three years ago and two days before Christmas...You being the best present for us ever. You were slower this week, and not eating without being handfed. You became incontinent but waited the week for your dad to come home. You let him know it was time, but Fri.night you practicaly lept into his arms when he came through the door. You were not a show quality pup, but you were the most gentle dog we have ever known. Your vet, Dr. Seely, and Errin, your favorite vet tech, were both in tears when we had to let you go. (These folks were Banfield people.) Thank you for letting us share your life. I know Ash and Artesian have been waiting for you. May you run free on four beautiful legs and be free of pain. May you have lots of peanut butter jars and cremora bottles and yogurt containers to lick until you heart content. You were David's dog all the way and I was your eternal slave, but I love you and your wiggle butt. All I can say for now. I am starting to cry again. Will be a long day at work but other puppies and owners need my help to help understand the glorious treasures you are. Samlur, your grey buddy, Molly your border pal, and Hannibal Barcca, your Schipperke nemesis seem lost without you this morning. I almost filled your dish as usual. Love Mom and Dad My words may not be as eloquent as others, but WE LOVE YOU AND WILL HAVE YOU FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!
  4. I am a PetSmart trainer and worked part-time for Banfield until I got on full time as a trainer. Thank you for talking about good and bad skills anywhere. I really do a lot of extra studying about training and fell I am quite qualified to do what I do. We do not do heavy obedience, just basic skills to get you and your pet communicating properly and each happy in your home. If you want your dog on on your couch, I do not say no. It depends on what you want. Out of four dogs, only two of mine have couch and bed privileges. If either of the two allowed would growl, snap, or not get off if directed, they will loose that privilege......Of course, Samlur, my grey, has this privilege. Although we have a discussion about him taking his half out of the middle of the bed once in awhile, but my husband and I have those issues once in awhile too lol.
  5. I work for Banfield. We only started giving the lepto vaccination this year as lepto is now in our area. I agree that the plans can include overvaccination, but you have the final say. Tell them if you do not want a vaccination for your pet. It is your right, but you need to stay infomred and be an advocate for your pets as well as yourself when you go for anything medical.

There are no words left to say. You did your best for your country and your pups. I am so sorry. My heart is full of pain for you. Wish words could make the hurt go away.
  7. So what is the proceedure? How long does it take, etc.?
  8. Am not sure if this is in the correct spot. Samlur turned a year old yesterday and got the blood draw to check for heartworms and got more meds. He has been on the heartworm meds since I got him. They asked me if they could use him as a blood donor if one was needed at the vet clinic. Do any of you do this with your dogs?
  9. What a baby doll. Welcome to the board. I have learned so much from the people here.
  10. Allmy dogs are chipped. Banfield, in PetsMart will do it for $29.95 and it comes with a lot of other goodies such as no extra fees for a lot of things...medical records online, emergency care, etc.
  11. I just read your tribute and am in tears again. Words can not express how sad I feel for you.
  12. I just saw this thread. I am typing through tears. Soar high and free sweet baby. I am so sorry your earth angels have not been able to help you. You were so loved by all I can see in this thread.
  13. I have heard the diachromateous earth is an excellent product. Just try not to breath the dust. Not posionous, just hard on nose and lungs. Off this topic, I tried to PM but could not. PM me if you would like, concerning your call name. Beledi
  14. Snoozing is usually warm and dry, busy cool and wet. When he has a bowel movement, he has one drip....whats up with that? Beledi
  15. My vet clinic has a spray they use on the anal area ,after the glans are expressed, and it gets rid of most of the odor. Beledi
  16. Darn, why didn't I think of that. I could be rich. LOL. Beledi
  17. My vet says Bully Sticks are o.k. They take a long time to chew and help keep the teeth clean. Beledi
  18. A local show greyhound breeder swears by "Masengill Douche". W e live in a farm area. Beledi
  19. I just saw this thread. Poor pup! Could he have been bitten by a spider? Beledi
  20. I agree 100%. My dogs were all awake. I do not like anyone or anything to go under anesthesia unless absolutely necessary. I am an asthmatic and do not go under for any proceedure if I can help it. Since Greys are so susceptible to having problems with anesthesia I would never risk it. Beledi
  21. I was so happy to read this post as I was going to start one on the same subject. My pup's brother is getting "eggplant"- colored skin and his owner and I were worried about him getting ill. Ah e even made a vet appointment to get it checked out. I am so happy to have found this forum. There is such a wealth of information without the cattiness of some other dog breeds forums. Thank You each and every person who make this a great site to be a part of. Beledi
  22. How is he doing? That is scary. Good thoughts coming your way for you and the pup. Beledi
