laurie
My sweet Emily left me three years ago tonight. I'm happy to say that I'm finally starting to remember all the good things instead of that last horrible night. I can finally laugh instead of cry (well, most of the time) when I think of her playing with her monkey, or playing chase with me around the house, or doing a fly-by in the back yard, which was one of her favorite games. She introduced us to the wonderful world of greyhounds, and for that, I'll be forever grateful. Wherever you are Em, Momma loves you. Guest Snowy8
Honey...the best way to have a really good cry about this is to remember all the funny little things they did. How she followed you around the house that first day & looked for you if you left the room. How they snuggle up against you when you're outside & its cold. How she got so excited because you came in from getting the mail & were only gone 30 seconds. Feeding time was an escapade & an exciting journey. That when you sat down to read Greytalk, she was laying on the floor beside you & sometimes she'd lay her warm muzzle on your foot just to let you know she was there. I remember when Sadie-Grey who was 14 at the time, she would get out there at night when it was cool & run figure 8's in the back yard. Then she'd stop & look to see if I saw her & take off again. They live to make us happy & when they die, they know their mission was complete. I will keep you in my prayers!
Greytlady94
It's so hard. Quote Greyhound angels at the bridge- Casey, Charlie, Maggie, Molly, Renie, Lucy & Teddy. Beagle angels Peanut and Charlie. And to all the 4 legged Bridge souls who have touched my heart, thank you. When a greyhound looks into you eyes it seems they touch your very soul. MilliesMom
I know exactly where you're coming from. We're coming up on 3 years without Millie next month. I hope that you wrote detailed emails to people or notes to yourself. I found some that I had written with details I had forgotten, like how she had the bizarre habit of licking the tile floor in the bedroom and making noise when we were trying to sleep. It's wonderful that you now can look back and smile. So sorry for your loss.
