wiz26
Hello! My greyhound is an 8 year, 10 month male and I've noticed a significant change in his weight over the past year. He lost a significant amount of weight, about 10-12 pounds, but still has a voracious appetite. I have taken him to two different veterinarians, and each could not find anything of note wrong with him. All of his labs came back clear, and they ruled a possible pancreas issue with additional testing as well. Again, his appetite is great but he does not seem to be able to put on any weight and he's looking very thin. Has anyone else had this issue? He currently weights right at 60 pounds. spottydog
Was a stool sample analyzed for parasites?
greysmom
Stool sample results? Abdominal ultrasound? Xrays? Any additional testing besides bloodwork - specifically urine protein, and complete thyroid testing?? If all of that has been done and your vet found nothing questionable, it's time for a referral to an internal specialist. An 8 year old greyhound may technically be a senior, but generally they don't really start having senior issues until 10 yrs old-ish, so a 10 pound weight loss seems suspicious of something more going on.
