Guest DogNewbie
Hey Greytalk! Our guy, Wiley (5.5 years old) has been favoring his right hind when he gets up from lying down. At first he won't put this paw on the ground, then he does some lame steps which gradually get better until he is walking normally. It almost looks like pins and needles. Can dogs get this? This started yesterday afternoon. Any suggestions? Should we be concerned? Any experience with this? Thanks! tbhounds
Any lameness is concerning. Has there been any recent trauma? Zoomies?
GeorgeofNE
Before you get TOO concerned, check his paw pads very carefully for any cuts, anything sticking out, or any hard flat spots that could be corns. If there is nothing, and it continues for a couple of days, you need to take him to the vet. Could be mild arthritis, could be lots of other things too.
