krissy
Generally we want the urine within an hour of being produced to reduce potential changes. You might want to call them in the am and find out what they want though, because first morning urine is usually preferable. Batmom
As krissy says, usually the first pee of the morning is what's wanted. Assuming the dog sleeps at night, the first pee in the morning is more concentrated so most test results will be more reliable. For most tests, you can refrigerate the urine for several hours (you can't leave it sitting out that long), but check with your vet to make sure. Hoping you can figure out what is going on with your sweet pup! mychip1
How ironic. I need to get urine tomorrow as well, and wanted the morning urine, but my appointment is not until six at night. I was figuring that he goes from the time I leave for work until I get home without peeing, so even though it's not overnight, it is almost as long holding it, so it should be pretty concentrated. Yes???? Better than gathering in the morning and leaving in the fridge for 12 hours from first pee? Batmom
If he isn't drinking (or drinking much) during the day, that'll be fine. Or depending on location and the vet's office hours, you could get the a.m. urine and drop it off on your way to work. First-pee-of-the-day can be useful but it isn't always necessary.
