New Spots

We got our grey about two months ago and he is all while. Recently, we noticed he has been getting spots on his legs. He had only a couple on his belly when we got him but now they are on his legs. Can spots come and go? Should I be worried?

Thank you :-)

If you are referring to spots of coat color &/or skin pigmented to match then the answer may be yes. My brindle girl's colors became more defined in the first 6 mos I had her. My male is white with brindle. His brindle shows up primarily in multicolored spots. "Is he part Dalmation?" In the first six months he was here he seemed to keep getting spottier. Every day seemed to bring a new spot. Spot even became one of his nicknames.

Like OwnedBySummer I would be interested in seeing a picture.

Totally normal, if you mean black spots in the skin/fur. Your greyhound will get more and more ticked/spotted the older he gets. I bet he's pretty young now, right?

I won't mention how I nearly rubbed Beth's one of Beth's nipples raw when it developed black pigment on the tip....

He may be starting to lose his kennel coat. Their "home," coats are generally less furry/full, so more of his spots may be visible. You'll also probably also see more as he ages.

TICKING....thats what its called...yes. (Sorry, I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet- still getting the hang of this place) They are the faded black spots on the skin, under the fur - THANK YOU!! Yes, still young, he is 3 years old, will be 4 in May. That's very cool- never knew they come and go :-) Thanks guys!!

Yep, I adopted Doolin when he was 2 and he was almost all white (with the exception of his patches). Now at 5, he has a lot of ticking all over him. Totally normal :)
