Chewed Up An Ate A Large Squeaker

Recommended Posts

i saw this happen on his webcam. he chewed it for quite some time. i presume he cut it into small pieces before swallowing, as its very large. this is one i just pulled out of the same toy. its the same size.

its malleable plastic, but could still have sharp edges. he isnt doing anything weird right now.

If he chewed it up real small it should all pass. However I would keep a close eye on him. If you see any signs of distress get him straight to a vet as he may have a blockage. Right now all you can really do is watch and wait.

he was chewing pretty vigorously, but i left work and raced home before he ate it, so im really not sure if or into how many pieces he chewed it. the vet told me not to induce vomiting, so basically i am just going to sit and wait.

I had a dog who was a die-hard toy eater.

I had to switch from plastic type toys to latex only, since they had no hard edges when swallowed.

Suggest you start buying toys without squeakers, but for now, I would just wait myself.

Who was the offender? Boy with tummy problems or New Boy?

important question!

the new one is the culprit. i suppose it's technically possible that while i was riding home, tempo actually wrested the squeaker away and ate it, though i can say with a high degree of confidence that it wasnt him.

so far nothing plastic has exited after four bowel movements, though a large piece of fabric of some sort did come out early this morning.

He may eventually vomit up what doesn't pass...or it'll all eventually come out. Just keep an eye out for lethargy, belly tenderness, vomiting, etc...we ga e a stuffie eater in our crew so we cant leave any out unattended.

rocko greeted the new day by vomiting up a ball of twisted, chewed up plastic, a piece of foam rubber, and a few small patches of stuffed animal fur this morning. these guys are full of surprises. literally.
