GreyAcresMom
A friend asked about what to give her dog that had a case of the runs. I told her Imodium. She looked on line and found three or four different sites hat said if your dog has white paws they have a gene that could have adverse reaction to the Imodium and cause brain injury. I know we have a lot of Vets,, almost Vets. Lots of vet-techs. Has any one ever heard of this? Thanks for your insight, opinions, etc. Sheila Quote Sheila and COwww.greyacres.com
Guest tricolorhounds
I've never heard that. On the other hand, I have a dog with IBD so we frequently have to treat for diarrhea. Several years ago my Vet asked what we had tried and I told her Imodium. She said that Imodium is not absorbed well by dogs and told me to get pepto-bismal liquid instead. KF_in_Georgia
I've never heard this. And every greyhound I've owned has had white feet. Batmom
Here you go: http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&A=506&S=2 I seldom use immodium because it can have adverse effects in a debilitated dog and in a dog with diarrhea caused by various toxins.
