Tumor Question

Recommended Posts

When the vet saw Magic for his toe injury on Monday, she said the bleeding from the wick area could be from trauma or a tumor. She said the nail wasn't split so that was a good sign; and, over the last couple of days, the fact that he's been acting normally and walking as normally as possible considering his foot is still bandaged for another day or 2. She said that was also a good sign. My question is: could a tumor in the toe/toe nail area be osteo?

BTW, if the swelling isn't down by 1/25 (his follow-up visit), the vet will do x-rays to determine if it is indeed a tumor.

Magic had his follow-up vet appointment for his toe nail injury. He was given the all clear. The vet said it was most likely from catching the nail on something. The injury was a split nail in the quick area that became infected. The swelling was gone by the time I took the bandage off a few days after the vet visit and he's been running (greyt snow zoomies) and walking normally ever since. He was actually walking normally after a day or 2 despite the bandage.

One of my Facebook friends has suggested I keep an eye out for SLO. I'll keep an eye out for any similar nail problems.
