Guest mhall
Jasper won't touch food that Panacur has been sprinkled on. Nor will he Panacur rolled up in a piece of lunch meat. If it was a pill I could get it down his throat, but I'm not sure how to get an unwilling dog to ingest a powder. Any suggestions to make Panacur yummy? Burpdog
I've used canned meat or yogurt--mix in well, and never had a dog refuse (of course now that I've said this....) Guest KennelMom
good suggestions so far...stinky meat mixtures tend to work well. I always get panacur in liquid form so I can just shoot it down their gullets.
Guest mhall
Thanks for all the suggestions. I think we'll try yogurt since we have it on hand, and the sourness might mask the bitterness. good suggestions so far...stinky meat mixtures tend to work well. I always get panacur in liquid form so I can just shoot it down their gullets. Good to know there is a liquid form for future reference - that would make things so much easier! I suppose I could dissolve the powder in liquid and squirt it down his throat if he won't eat it willingly...
Guest TeddysMom
I make up some human gravy and mix that with their food. I usually use the liquid also but someone gave me some of the powder packets and I didn't want to waste it.
PatricksMom
If none of these works, your local compounding pharmacy will probably carry empty gel caps you could put the powder in (assuming that's okay with this med). Batmom
I'm late to the party but if anyone has trouble in future, you can make a little pocket out of liverwurst, cold peanutbutter, or raw hamburger; dump the powder in the pocket, pinch shut, and then stuff down their throat like any ol' pill. Glad you found a better solution!
