Guest lovingreys
I'm considering switching one of my greys to a home cooked diet due to pancreatits. I'm concerned about making sure I'm feeding her a balanced diet over time. Can anyone recommend books on this topic?
brandimom
Welcome to GT! I know some others will have some good advice but the first thing that came to my mind was Monica Segal. Please google her and some of her books will come up. Good luck!
tbhounds
If you want a diet designed for your dogs health needs contact Dr Remilard at Angel-Boston, Ma. She will consult over the phone. She designed a kidney friendly diet for my girl. I'm very happy with her services.
Guest Fasave
I second Dr. Remilard at Angell Memorial in Boston. She designed a diet for my dog who had severe IBD, PLE and PLN which meant one required low protein and the other high. It's really important when home cooking that they get supplements such as calcium and vitamins to balance everything else out. Her diets include a lot of variety for the same recipe so that you can keep the dog from getting bored. I think the cost is about $100-$150 but the flip side is that you're not wasting a lot of time and money and foods that don't work. Below is the link to her information. http://www.mspca.org/vet-services/angell-boston/nutrition/

MaryJane
I also recommend Dr. Remaillard at Angel. I've used her for various diets and have been quite satisfied.
