LaFlaca Posted August 30, 2009 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Was he racing around right before this happened? Two weeks ago Wendy took a hit as she raced around the yard. She had temporary weakness in the right hind leg (a couple of hours) and a straightened out center toe. An x-ray revealed a flexor tendon injury. Nothing serious and no surgery required. She is fine now except for a weird toe. I pray that Norm has nothing worse than this. Could also be a cramp if he was zooming. A little massage will help. Came away from the door with the left rear leg up like he was attempting to scratch. But when he put it down it wouldnt hold him up! Major trembling. All toes straight. Lasted about 5 minutes? Hollis Posted August 30, 2009 Author Share Posted August 30, 2009 doesnt seem to be in pain. but neither have ever given me the GOSD. so who knows. 2nd round seems to be over. laying on his belly. panting a bit but I expect thats from the episode and nothing more. also his 3 siblings acted a fool while he was stumbling around. so that didnt help. he's on deramaxx 50 mgs a day. was thinking of giving him some melatonin to help him relax thru the night.....thoughts on that? The only way to tell if it IS low potassium, is blood work. Low potassium causes muscle cramps in humans, big time.
