Then the phone call came from the Humane Society - can you foster a greyhound and pick her up in 3 hours? Well, duh...Ooops, forget to ask DH...oh my, I've got 3 sales appointments this afternoon....hmmm. And, I want our hounds to meet the new hound at the Humane Society - what's a girl to do? So, called DH and asked him to leave work early, pick up our hounds and meet me at the Humane Society to meet the hound we were going to foster - the dogs from the place where they seized 216 dogs honey and, besides, a greyhound can't stay in a shelter environment. (Silence.....) "OK - what time?" Wow - easier than expected. So, rescheduled the sales appointments and played with my calendar a little. As far as we know, the hound is an older, large male (8 or 9) but has no issues. So.....I arrive at the shelter before the others because I want to get acquainted. Here comes this beautiful, little fawn GIRL who is 3 years old and almost the spitting image of our first and heart hound. At that point, I knew there was no fostering at all - we were going to adopt (as long as everyone got along.) Long story short (including some miscommunications and about a month of some legal stuff), we "signed the papers" on Dusty on July 30. I've not had a good picture of her until yesterday when we had the pack photo done. Soooooo, please join us in welcoming Dusty, aka Indipper, to the Young Pack.
