Guest arlosmom
My boy Kingfish had a racing injury a year ago and I adopted him in May and he was still limping. We also noticed that the previously injured leg was much smaller from the hip down than the other. After contacting his racing kennel I was told he had a cracked hock injury. I took him to my vet and got some xrays of both back legs for comparison. Everything was fine but his limp continued to get worse so we got a referal to our local orthopedic vet. After his evaluation they found he had a corn developing on one of the toes on his previously injured leg. His hips were all fine. The corn we will have removed when it becomes more defined. In the meantime he was recommended for hydrotherapy which we thought was pretty cool. Here are some pics from his second session. He is getting so he really likes it. At the end he gets jets for more resistance. He walks for 30 minutes. This will soften the corn also. PrairieProf
Those are very cool! I'm glad he's enjoying it. His face/head look so much like my Beth's, it's kind of uncanny -- noticed that in your recent "mooshies" thread too! Burpdog
I hope to get the video of Pablo to post He is only doing 7 minutes! He also has to have someone in with him. It's great that he is in there alone! The corn: you can pop it out with your fingernail if he'll let you. Guest arlosmom
Betsy has a message for Kingfish, "I didn't need a life jacket, you wuss. Pfffffft." I would not have let him do this without a life jacket. I heard that a dog was left unattended in this tank and drowned! I insisted my husband be there and the life jacket on ( I think they do that since that occurance) The water was too warm the first time and we asked that they empty the tank and refill with fresh water. I did not want him to faint! The corn: you can pop it out with your fingernail if he'll let you. Both our regular vet and the orthopedice prefer cutting it out so it will not return. Arlo had one done, it took longer to heal of course but has not returned in 4 years.
