greyhndz Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 I got a PM from Robin tonight (I'm sure she'll catch up and post herself) - said Beau is doing really well, and that the specialist she consulted reviewed Beau's records and did NOT see anything in the results of the joint tap that indicated autoimmune polyarthritis! RobinM Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 Here I be. I was just reading another email from the specialist. I am going to have my vet send all the labs to the specialist. I somehow, someway feel like I am cheating on my vet. I am not sure I am feeling this way because I make myself feel this way or this is the way they make me feel. Either way, I shouldn't feel this way. Beau has been (knock wood, poo poo, salt over shoulder...etc) doing ..... !!!!! Eating well. He is back up his orignal weight but because the pred wastes the muscle, he actually looks bigger. We have now seriously cut back his food. 1 cup= 264 calories. He gets 1 cup @ 7:30 AM. 1 cup @ 12:30 PM by DS. 1.5 cups @ 5:30 and 1.5 @ 10:30. we mix in a very little bit of either tilapia or z/d wet. A VERY LITTLE. We are no longer feeding him at 3AM but we still let him out at that time. Getting up for 5 minutes at that hour vs 20-30 minutes is a big difference! He is on 30mg of pred and imuran and every once in a while I will get a glimpse of Beau. My Beau. MY silly boy who jumps up on me,wraps his paws around my neck and plants a big fat wet kiss on my face. My baby boy who sits and gazes at me for hours. Taking in every facet of me so that when I go to work, all he has to do is close is eyes and his mommy is right there! Lowering the pred give ms back Beau once in a while. We do not plan on coming off of it anytime soon. We DO plan on going to GIG. We are always registered and never go due to "issues". There will be NO Issues this year and we WILL ALL be going. Thank you so much for thinking about us. It's been.... ya know?
