RobinM Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 OK- it's weird. He had "D from what we think is the oatmeal so we stopped it midday on Thursday. Today is day 4 of only tilalpia. For the last 3 days he has a BLAST of GAS then a spray of liquid poop. That's it. He is taking in about 3 pounds of fish and only pooping maybe a tablespoon 3 times a day. What is this about???? Anyone ever hear of this? He is not otherwise gassy at all. I CAN'T give him anything BUT one thing at a time. We are not introducing anything into his diet for a least another 5 days. Unfortunatley, that would not be something an IBD dog could have. We don't know if Beau is intolerant of the tilapia now, the tilpaia is not enough or what. All I know is that 4 days after he start the pred, on just tilapia, he had formed poops for the 1st time in 6 months. THEN, we added in kibble with tilapia for a couple days, changed it to tilpaia and oatmeal and as soon as we added the kibble, his poop went south. So, we wait it out. Guest Greensleeves Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Well, remember that prednisone draws water into the stool, so it will be softer (than a normal dog's otherwise would be).
