Guest Piila
Abbey's x-ray didn't come back good - there are growths on his tibia and it's mottled-looking. We also had a chest x-ray done, and that is clear. His blood work comes back normal though - no abnormalities there. Right now, he's started on a course of Metacam to see if some swelling comes down, but the x-ray shows only minor soft-tissue swelling - the bulk of the lump is bony. Tuesday, he will have a fine needle aspiration so that will give us confirmation of what the problem is. It's not been a good couple of days. I very much want to thank GSNCR throughout this - Laura and the gang are my Christmas angels. Fingers are crossed for my fur-baby.

Guest Piila
Does anyone know how fast results are obtained from a Fine Needle Aspiration? Edited December 14, 2008 by Piila
Guest ChasesMum
It depends if they look at it at the clinic (should be done same day) or if they sent it away for further consult (a couple days) Edited December 14, 2008 by ChasesMum
RobinM
I am sorry to hear about the x-ray but there are options. We're keeping you and Abbey in our thoughts. Yes, agreed. Is anything conclusive yet? Waiting really stinks for you and Abbey. Is he home with you or at the vet? Hoping for good results and a speedy recovery, just in time for the holidays. Hugs for you both. Guest Piila
he's here at home - being a big sucky-baby and eating all the treats I can give him. luckily it's freezing cold out there so he's not too anxious to be out for a long walk.
