New Brit Member, And Questions About Rules?

Hiya,

just posted a kind of intro and hello here, in the behaviour forum, as that's what brought me here (heard of the forum before) and hope to get to know you folks. :colgate

I can't use the PM function (yet? Is it dependent on post count?) to ask things of the admin/mods, so have a couple of respectful Q's to ask - 1. is this forum pro-racing (asking coz I am not, and thousands of dead greys back me up on that) and 2. is this forum against sharing the occasional anti-galgo-hanging petition (as a greyhound-wefare org I support has one due on 5th Dec) and 3. is this forum averse to discussing the downsides of corporate petfood manufacture? Not as a rant, but in context - I don't want to get banned because I trod on a sore point. :P

None of this post is meant to be provocative - I admin forums myself, so know only too well that the net is full of birdies with opinions, so if there are rules about these things I'll suck it up, bear them in mind, and abide by them, as I'm sure we all have more in common than not - but just wanted to check, and since I didn't find a pinned "dos and don'ts" or rules section - just going to stick my furry neck out, and ask away!

Couldn't work out the support ticket thing... (I work shifts, and have serious sleep/brain deprivation much of the time LOL) but, think I have the hang of where you're coming from - thanks, because I was trying to get my bearings (so to speak) and it's not immediately obvious (at least to me - but then, I can be thick at times!) :colgate:rolleyes:

One Q - may I link, in my sig, to either an activist site, or a blog I own, that is anti-racing? If not, no probs - I really do understand your reasons for being neither pro- nor anti-racing, and just want to know where I stand, and what the housetraining :colgate rules are here.

Thanks! :colgate

I'll leave it to Trudy to reply, but I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to add a link to an anti-racing group in your signature. Plenty of people advertise racing kennels or breeders for the industry in their siggy, so the other side should also be able to do the same.

Hello and welcome from a fellow Brit and Londoner! :wave:P

You will be able to PM people once you have 50 posts. So get posting! And then PM me

Nope

And if there are people advertising breeders or kennels other than their own for their adoption purposes, please report it as that isn't allowed either.

Greytalk is an ADOPTED GREYHOUND board, not a racing or anti racing board, plenty of those to go to for those looking for that.

I think you can use the 'Send an Email' feature meanwhile. Not all members have chosen to have their email option activited. I have mine activated. To see if you can, just click onto my name, click 'View Member Profile' and then click onto 'Send an Email', and see if it works! :)
