Guest jupiterooos
And naturally, as I was worriedly searching GT, our internet connection pooped out. So I played it safe and fed him peroxide...not a happy dog right now. But for future reference - 7 lb dog, eight double-chocolate cupcakes, barf or no? iluvgreys
He's only 7 pounds? 'Cause I'm super protective, I'd use the hydrogen peroxide too. Trudy
I'm guessing 70 pound dog. No. I wouldn't Ryan has eaten an entire batch of dark chocolate brownies with very little ill effects - he didn't even gas us out much.
krissn333
I don't think I'd worry about that, it's likely there's not enough REAL cocoa in there to make a bit of difference...might have a sugar overloaded pup, but... But, I always say, when in doubt, the peroxide is your friend. You feel awful for how it makes them feel for a while, but, at least you know that you got rid of whatever went in that *could have* caused a problem. Always go with your gut. If it had been me, I'd likely have just observed for any signs of distress or anything...it's likely you'd just experience some gas, maybe some icky poop the following day, but nothing life threatening. He'll be fine though! Guest KennelMom
There's not much chocolate in chocolate cupcakes. I'm guessing you meant 70 lb dog, not 7. I wouldn't induce vomiting for that, but would expect some loose poop.
Guest FullMetalFrank
No advice here, just hope poor Jupiter is feeling better!
Guest jupiterooos
Yes, 70 lbs! I figured that much chocolate wouldn't kill him or anything, but he has always been very sensitive to the untoward things he's eaten - some dogs will gas it up for a day or so afterwards, he will have diarrhea for days. Far safer and pleasanter for him to bring it up right away! He's fine now, it looks like, and I didn't really need a dozen double-chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting anyway
Charlies_Dad
I would have done the same thing. Call me paranoid but I think it's safer coming back up. It's not like it was a foreign object that you don't want coming back up!
