Roxie Eve - Going To Neurologist

We took Eve back to the regular vet yesterday, after a round of Metacam, since she was still limping (saw new fill-in vet while regular vet was on vacation). Reg vet examined Eve and thinks something is going on with her spine/disc and is sending us to Neurologist. Eve limps when she walks. The vet pressed on her back going down her spine and right in between her shoulder blades when the vet pushed Eve bent her legs in pain. The vet thinks it's between her Cervical (?) and Thorasic area. She didn't want to take X-rays in since this is a hard area and they have to knock her out - vet thought she might take the wrong view. Vet said the best possible diagnoise tool would be an MRI - and runs approx $1,000+.

Has anyone had any experience with anything like this? I'm worried for my girl and don't know what to expect. Vet said they do operate on backs/spines.

Any advise please!! Our appointment is Friday morning.

How far are you from MSU? MSU web site

The vet recommended Dr Wolf in Commerce Twp. www.animalneurology.com

We've been to MSU in the past for Todd and Buster's amputations from cancer. They are very good there.

I hope Eve will be alright and send good thoughts it be something easily treated. :hope:dogcookie:dogcookie

It might be very worth looking into acupuncture. I've never taken a dog of mine for it,but know of very good results, and several here on gt.
