Bill419
It's been 2 years since Susie left us. Although we only had her for 14 months, I still miss my little girl and her chattering teeth. The picture of her trancing under the tangerine tree sits right next to the computer. Bill419
Bill, would you post the story of how Susie came to live with you? We first saw Susie on greytalk. The thread said she was almost 14 years old and was bounced to GPA/Orlando. We only lived about 200 miles south of Orlando so we inquired about adopting Susie. We were told that not only was she almost 14 years old but she had kidney disease and Pannus. We decided to adopted her anyway and to try to make whatever time she had left as loving as possible. We adopted Susie on March 3rd, 3 weeks before her 14th birthday. A couple of weeks later we put Susie on Sub Q fluid treatments for her kidney disease and cooked special meals for her. We hoped that Susie would live for at least 6 more months. Susie responded so well to the love that she got that she lived for 14 months with us. In August Susie collapsed from a slipped disc in her neck. She couldn't stand. We took Susie for chiropractic treatments and accupuncture and she responded well. After 2 1/2 months of treatment Susie was running again. Susie was an amazing little girl with tremendous spirit. When we adopted her she was 50 pounds. she never went above 57 pounds.
