Guest Giselle
My pup started bleeding from a little growth yesterday. It was very sudden, and I was completely caught off guard: Apparently, some people said their dogs have gotten these bumps on their dogs' legs, as well, and it all went away within a few days. Others are saying it's a harmless cyst. We're watching it for a few days, and if it doesn't improve, we'll take her to the vet. However, I just wanted to see if anybody recognizes this.. macoduck
Histiocytoma. Gracie gets one on a foot. Generally goes away within 3 months. No treatment needed unless it gets an infection from a dog licking it. Gracie's came back last month, exact same place. We're keeping an eye on it. It looks redder than this picture of her. Always worth a vet check to be sure though. Guest houndlover
I have never seen anything like either of those on my dogs. It looks painful though. Does it seem to bother them?
Hawthorn
Sunny and Sophie have both have one of these. In both cases it was a histiocytoma, which is a benign growth that usually goes away on its own within 3 months. However, a mast cell tumour (a very aggressive cancer) also looks similar so it's important to have a fine needle aspirate done to establish for sure what it is. Guest terri643
Jasper had a dime-sized growth on his butt last summer. We had it surgically removed because our vet said it was becoming ulcerated. It turned out to be benign, a histiocytoma. Since then, another similar growth (much smaller) appeared on one of his legs and then disappeared within two months. I suggest that you have your vet check this out, especially because it was bleeding.
HopeForHounds
Probably a hystiocytoma, however I always recomend a vet check. If it isn;t a benign growth treating it early is the key to success. Plus if it bleeds it is open to infection and feet can be problematic. Praying it is benign and stays problem free.
