Driver Not Feeling Well

Just need some of your thoughts...

Yesterday Driver was perfectly fine. Last night at about 5 pm he ate all his dinner.. at about 7 pm DH and I took the dogs for a 45 minute walk. Later on that evening they all got Greenies, were let out at about 10:45 pm and went to bed around 11 pm. At 1 am Driver threw up. He went out at 4 am. Because it was dark we are not sure if he threw up again or if he threw up this morning when let out (I suspect it was either late the night before or at 4 am). This morning he ate his food (in hindsight, we should have fasted him). But he did still have his appetite. However, he is very lethargic. He is moving around very slowly, stairs are very slow for him, he isn' doing a full stretch like he usually does. He is drinking water, pacng around. I just let him out and his stools were quite soft.

I know I'm just probably being paranoid, as it's likely just an upset tummy.

Yes, we've fed these Greenies many times. He did throw up most of the greenie and kibble in the night. They've never had problems with Greenies before, but there's always a first, I suppose.

It's always so hard when they first show signs of illness to decide if it's worth waiting a bit or going straight to the vet. I think what would concern me even more than the vomiting is the lethargy and the difficulties he is having moving around. Have you called your vet clinic to ask their opinion? My crew isn't interested in greenies, but I have heard the same about the possible blockages....

Keep us posted.

The new greenies are suppposed to be much softer than the old ones, and completely digestable.

How old is Driver?

I'd just make sure he has lots of water, no food though. Let his tummy settle. If he has any persistent signs of pain/discomfort, I'd call the vet.

Hope he feels better soon!

I'd take him to the vet for an abdominal x-ray.

Definitely.
