Trudy
This is the first time I've needed to dose it. Instructions given by Ryan's neurologist was to dissolve it in 5ml of water and give it to him. He's not so thrilled about this stuff. Can we put it in something else that makes it a little less nasty to take?
Jeff
I say make it like a jell-o shot/cube.
VinnieAndRexsMom
I've used carafate several times with the boys, stsarting with Vinnie. We had a pill, a people pill, I got at CVS. Is there some reason you can't use the pill? Quote Tonya, mom to May, and my angels Vinnie, Rex, Red, Chase, and Jake.
Burpdog
I've always given it whole and it works that way. I take it whole and it works just fine. The only reason I see to liquify it is if you have a mouth or esophagus issue. Quote Diane & The Senior Gang Burpdog Biscuits
VinnieAndRexsMom
It's a pink pill, right? I guess I was reading it as though you had a powder. That's why I guess I was confused. Guest CyndiW
Our vet recommended dissolving it in chicken broth and letting him lap that up since it should be given on an empty stomach. Alex didn't go for that so we had to hide it in Ensure which he loves. Broth would be better if Ryan will go for it (then you don't have to turn around and brush his teeth to get the sugar off).
