Guest hllb
Izzy is a bit itchy on her sides lately. I've done a flea exam and all looks good (whew!). There is a patch on her side that's dry and a bit scabby. If she were a person, I'd put lotion on it. What do you do for a dog?
Guest whatahound
Nikki has a place on her side just like that. I've taken her to the vet several times and after skin scrapes and numerous medications we still don't know what it is. It is always there, to some degree. I'll be watching this thread. MarcR
Sounds like maybe a contact dermatitis? Might be worth a trip to the vet just to rule out any parasites besides fleas. Oh, and I got to two times and sprained my tongue Edited July 30, 2007 by MarcR Quote Marc and Myun plus Starbuck (the cat)Pinky my AWOL girl, wherever you are, I miss you.Angels Honey (6/30/99-11/3/11) Nadia (5/11/99-6/4/12) Kara (6/5/99-7/17/12) Cleo (4/13/2000-4/19/2014) Antnee (12/1/2002=2/20/17)
Greytlady94
My Lucy has itchies and they were food related. Can also be from products like detergent used to wash beds, carpet cleaning products, yard products, etc. Quote Greyhound angels at the bridge- Casey, Charlie, Maggie, Molly, Renie, Lucy & Teddy. Guest hllb
I'm about to start switching from Nutro Lamb and Rice to Canidae Life Stages so if it's food related, hopefully that will fix it!
fritofeet
It does sound like a contact dermatitis spot. You can put human cortisone on the spot. I use Cortaid on my dog if it is dry and scabby and it does help it go away.
Guest guinness_the_greyt
I had problems with Lamb and Rice with Memphis... it made him extremely itchy.... Then I switched to chicken and rice and that gave my old roommates hound Bela ear problems... Those pesky allergies!!! I've now done Venison and Beef without any issues.
