Guest gr84me
Just wanted to add my good thoughts and of course our prayers! Brody's limp is from arthritis; he takes Metacam when needed and gets regular foot massages :-)
Guest LolasMom
I know that this might sound funny, but my "Lola" girl had a limp and was licking her front paw (and was often not putting wieght on it) - my vet found that a small kink in her NECK was causing these symptoms! You could feel the heat in her neck where the problem was . Who would have thought it. She got some message and an adjustment and is good as new. My vet said that it's not unusual for the nerves in the neck to be compressed and send these pain signals to the extremities. Can't hurt to check it out, I hope this will help. Love and good thoughts to you and Lola Edited June 17, 2007 by LolasMom

Guest Winterwish
Thinking of Lola here too. If she is to go on metacam, she'll usually need labs to be done, unless recent ones have been done. Maybe you can ask about it while her labs are still recent,so as not to have another visit. Edited August 18, 2008 by Winterwish
Guest argolola
Thanks everyone! GTers are wonderful! I forgot to mention that she is on Rimadyl, but I only give it to her when she needs it. She has her mini-chem every 3 months to check for liver and kidney function. I want to get her neck checked out. She has the yearly tests, shots, etc. (the works) in 2 weeks, so I will ask about a TBD test. You all are appreciated.

ShantisMom
You have my prayers for your sweet Lola Lene'. We are on 11months of battling the limp here. I know first hand how frustrating it is. We will think really good thoughts for Lola. Let us know what UF says. Quote The Girls
Guest argolola
Well, they say Lola must have surgery...and soon. The tumor has scratched her eye and there is a hole in the eyelid. She was such a good girl, and of course everyone fell in love with her. She had about 4 interns and 2 doctors evaluating her. I asked them if this was Grey's Anatomy for dogs. We set the appointment for 7/11/07, and now must figure out a way to pay for it.
Guest trevdog
I'm glad you finally have an answer. UF is a good school...if one of my guys has a serious issue, I plan to take them there next time instead of the local specialists that I have had less than good experiences with in the past. Hoping for a successful outcome!

ShantisMom
Lene' I saw this update after my PM. Sorry she has to have surgery. At least it will fix the problem. What we do for our pups! Will they let you make payments? Glad to hear her leg is better the last 2 days! Lets hope that it stays that way for good. If there is anything I can do from here, let me know. You know where to find me. Hang in there. God won't give us more than we can handle. I just don't pray for strength to test that theory. turbotaina
I agree with Robin - lameness that comes and goes is often a TBD. When you can, do have a tick panel done, just to rule it out.
