ACTON

Every Sunday from 1-2pm at the Acton Fairgrounds. Rain or shine or cold- although not many greys show up when its too cold!

From 401, HWY 25 N (in Milton), Left on Knox Road in Acton, parking to the right.

We are having difficulty finding any greyhound socials/outings anywhere in our area (York Region or Toronto - or we can go west as well) so i am wondering if you are still having meets in Acton. do you still meet on sundays from 1-2pm?

And does anyone know of anything closer to Stouffville/Markham area?

Sybil needs to PLAY Play play! : )

We're in the GTA (Mississauga) and are looking for someone (or a bunch of people) with greys to have regular get-togethers with. We are new to the greyhound world, and aren't sure where to look, really. Our grey, Ozzy loves to play so we're hoping for maybe monthly or every-other-month meet ups.

Thanks to all who came out today to the NEW M&G at the Concordville Town Center PetSmart in the Philadelphia Suburbs (Delaware County) today.

We had about 18 gorgeous greys and wonderful people. I appreciate the good management of PetSmart who enabled this event and made us so comfotable. Several people were interested in greys and possible adoption (our goal). We intend to guide them through this process if they feel greyhound adoption is a responsibility they can assume at this time.

Thank you so very. very much - all your greyt people who came out on this fridgid day!

Regards,

Nancy Simons

Some neighbors and I get together on most Saturdays around 1 or 2 and have ourselves a nice run in Suffolk, VA. We have an understanding with the High School I live by...as long as we clean up after ourselves, we're all good. If you're interested, call me:

Anyone in near catskill NY?

Hi. When I visit my kids, I take my dogs up to the Oneonta State College. Are you near there?

Hi there! We're in Mississauga too! Our 2 love to play with other greys.... We just met Rufus (whose humans will be sitting for us in May) and they had a greyt time!

They told us about the spot in Acton, so we thought we might check it out tomorrow since it will be nice...

It would be nice to have a greyhound specific playdate in Mississauga though... maybe we can figure something out?

:) Soren

Lauderdale and take my grey to Snyder Park every Saturday/Sunday morning. It's near 595 and the airport. It's rare to see other greys but my girl plays with all the other dogs and everyone loves watching her run. They also have a dog beach area. There was a lady bringing some italian greys for a while but I haven't seen her lately.

I heard there was a park in Plantation that has Grey get togethers on the weekends but I don't know the park or the times.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I was actually the one that started that play group. I'm glad it is still going on since my girls and I moved to AZ. I'm having trouble remembering the park. It is just east of University Drive. Just North of State Rd. 84. Check with Friends of Greyhounds. Michelle would have the location.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

The location is Seminole Happy Tails and Friends of greyhounds doesn't go there on Sundays anymore. They run an open house for their adoption kennel every Sat and Sunday from 10:00 to 3:00. It keeps them busy. I have been trying to start a midweek informal greyhound get together there on Wesdays at six. I put out the word to other Friends of Greyhound volunteers but so far only Mia and I have shown up. The park is east of University south of Peters Rd. It is larger then the Snyder Bark Park, we will be there this week on the 21 if anyone wants to stop by.

Friends of Greyhounds welcome other greyhounds to stop by during their open houses! It's great to visit previous adoptees in their fenced park, and to give extra incentive to curious passers-by to come in and adopt one of their own!

But if anyone lives closer to Miami and would like to have a greyhound meet up, please let me know!

North of Toronto, Ontario - Canada

The South Simcoe Greyhound Group (SSGG), active since 2006. We meet at diamonds in between Bradford and Barrie Ontario, 5-10 minutes off the 400.

This group is for people owned by retired racing greyhounds. We like to get together weekends to have fun runs and social time. Our usual baseball diamond is at Highway 89 and Highway 11, just north of Bradford, Ontario. We use others in Alcona and sometimes Queensville. Muzzles are mandatory.

Timing, location and and number of runs is decided by a weekly poll, and we use Yahoo Groups to communicate.

To join our group go here and apply:

Our new grey should be with us in about a week (he's being fostered locally right now), so we will be at one of the Acton meets soon.

We're in Mississauga too - and would love to meet with other grey owners and greys.

I note that the original post is over a year old. Please let me know if you've arranged anything local for Mississauga.

Thanks!

Alan

Greyhound owners in the OKC metro area: Get together at the OKC Paw Park on Grand Blvd & Hefner Parkway on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 7:00! If the weather is ever above 90 degrees we will move it to 8:00. Just a fun time to get together and let our greyhounds stretch their legs. Note: there is a pond at this dog park so bring a towel if your grey loves to take a dip!

Keystone Greyhounds Monthly Strut

:gh_bow

Meets the first Sunday of the month at 2PM. We usually meet on City Island between the carousel and children's train station, but not always. Please check the upcoming events on our website (www.keystonegreys.org) or drop me an e-mail at camphillhound@yahoo.com to be added to our distribution list.

All are welcome, whether you're a new adopter or an old pro, regardless of what group your greyhound came from, or whether you're "just looking" -- because it's all about the dogs!
