  1. I also saw that there was a SPECIFIC GRAVITY URINALYSIS 1.036 though it was not first morning. According to everything I have found to read she has really great results.

She claimed she had very extensive greyhound experience, and she knew the difference in blood values for a greyhound.

    Damn, hate this.

    Thanks everyone.

  2. You only need a teaspoon-they can give you results within a minute. Fwiw-my boys creatinine has been consistently 2.2 for years.

    How was the BUN?

Finally got the blood test results. The BUN is at 14, and the creatinine is at 1.7.

    Thanks everyone.

  3. I had bloodwork done, only because she is 12. Kinda getting old for a Grey.

I don't have blood work results in had so might be premature.

Everything good but kidney levels. Vet said should be 1.5. Kala is 1.7. Recommended KD Food. Money back guarantee if she doesn't like it.

    Any thoughts on this? Recommendations?

    Thanks.

  4. Thanks. I'll check it out. She's always been a tiny little thing. 50# dripping wet on a good day!! I think I'll try 1/2 2x a day....

Tbhounds, you say that then don't say anything else. Can I ask why? She is 11.5 years old. Maybe 50#. Skinny. Been on the satin meatballs for the last year as a supplement. All labs and everything are great. Just skinny as she ages. But the proin has been great. I'm interested in your thoughts on this...or anyone's for that matter.

  5. So I blew it. Kala has been on these meds about a year. I didn't realize that my vet was going to be closed for 2 weeks for the holiday. (Proin 50 mg)

I will run out of them Monday A.M. Won't be able to even try to get them refilled before Tuesday.

Can I give her one a day every few days? I will try another vet but I doubt that they will help they aren't good like that here.

    Ideas?

If anyone is interested they made a WORLD of difference. One accident in the year plus she has. Been taking them.

    Thanks.

  6. OMG !!!! You are so very lucky. We live in a very rural area and coyotes generally dig under to get in our yard. Also 2.5 acres,

fully fenced. The coyote got our tri-pod grey. Ripped he skin all the way off on her right side. We think the only reason

She "got-away" was the other 5 Greys heard her yelp and came out to see what was going on and scared it away.

  7. Amazing??? No. They really don't care what I put on their chicken. lol I had a little chicken that needed to be used up. I sliced thin, almost two thin, and just used salt and pepper for the flavor. They loved it. But then mine will eat dirt if I hand feed it to them. lol Anything from Mom and they are happy. As I am sure Ruby will be also!! lol

  8. A friend asked about what to give her dog that had a case of the runs. I told her Imodium. She looked on line and found three or four different sites hat said if your dog has white paws they have a gene that could have adverse reaction to the Imodium and cause brain injury.

I know we have a lot of Vets,, almost Vets. Lots of vet-techs. Has any one ever heard of this?

Thanks for your insight, opinions, etc.

  9. I never had to have Cosmo on anything but the fluconazole. I would give the satin balls when needed. Once or twice a week. That always seemed to start his appetite. He keep a healthily weight (75#) up from his 65 pounds at his diagnosis. Good Luck. I loved roadrunner pharmacy out of PX AZ. He got a new toy every time he got a refil!!! :blush

Look up the recipe for the meatballs on here. I did not use the egg shells. Good luck. It's not the death sentence that it once was.

  10. Taking food from them is a NO NO. Even stray chicken bones. I had neighbors that would toss their bones over the fence. I would let them eat the bones, better the bones than me.

I'm not much of a trainer but I have never had a animal that would not drop their "find" in or out. I can always take food from them. I just this am had to take a bird away from Kala Blu. I just told her what a good girl thanks for the mothers day present and took the bird. With ALL the bunnies they have brought in, I have to have control. Just takes once. Sorry. I could never let that go with all the dogs in and out of our house.
