  2. I can vouch for Dr. Sisson too. Wondering about LS advancing. Increased knuckling, delayed signals from brain to legs, dropped poops seem to point in a neurological direction. Hope I see Gus later today.
  3. Sprite was truly a special girl who went from eating the back of a bathroom door into Nancy's heart.
  4. Nancy, I'm so sorry for you and Sprite. As you know she has special meaning for me. I'll be thinking of you both as well as Red and Lottie.
  5. Hi Klem has chronic GI problems with allergies and ? colitis/IBS. For the last 5 weeks I've been working working with a GI specialist and he's been on Prednisone, Flagyl, bland diet (hamburg b/c he's allergic to poultry) and Vit B12 shots every week. He's had extensive blood work, ultrasounds, xrays etc... all of which point to a diseased GI tract. To quote her he's "diseased from his tongue to his tail". So here is my question. After 5 weeks he's shown little improvement and may be showing signs of a Prednisone induced ulcer so we are reducing that to an every other day schedule and adding Carafate, Pepcid, and Tramadol for pain. My GI Dr. is thinking about switching the Flagyl to Tylan Powder next week so I'm wondering if anyone can comment on any personal experience in using this. I'm not opposed to a scope but it seems so invasive and I wonder if it's going to tell me anything that would alter his treatment.
  6. Just went through this with Rev. Prognosis with Chemo was 6-9 months, treatment with just steroids 3 months. We elected not to treat and he lasted about 3 weeks. I can truly understand what you're going through. For what it's worth I did get a phone consultation from Ohio State which was helpful in making my decision.
  7. Maria, Klem and Cavalier (Mom's first GH) had/have murmers. In these two cases and likely Rizzos' if it's so faint it's not going to be a big deal. Keep us posted on both issues.

  11. Rev put up a valiant struggle but lost his battle with Lymphoma today. Words can't express what I'm feeling or what he meant to me.
  12. I'm making a motion to ban pink from any Greyhound Adventure walks.
  13. Kerri, Strike always had UTI's and sheath infections. Lengthy courses of antibiotics and flushes and yet they still came back. The only thing that worked (discovered entirely by accident) was a midday turn out. I swear once my Mom came over midday for a turn out all of his symptoms cleared up and he went years without either infection.
  14. Cara, Strike my first GH had chronic UTI's which finally went away when my dog sitter (Mom) let him out midday but on average 8-10 hours is no big deal for my pups. Her dog can go even longer proven by rain or inclement weather without any issues or health problems.
  15. I was so pleased to meet Frazzle at Wonderland and then to see him on the Expo walk or in his case in his charriot. He really was loved.
  16. Don't beat yourself up. It can happen to any one of us. Obviously you have learned from this experience and that is what matters most. Welcome to Greytalk.
