  1. I have been treating a grey with IBD for about a year now. Like your dog he HAD low blood proteins. I did have an endoscopy performed ( to rule out GI Lymph) and after a few Dr.s opinions it was concluded that he has IBD. He was initially put on Pred but it just didn't help. He was since put on another steroid called Budesonide (3mgs/day). I truly believe that drug saved his life because like your guy he was very sick. He's still taking it although we were able to reduce the dosage now. Budesonide is a steroid that pretty much stays in the GI tract and therefore they don't get the usual side-affects that they would with Pred. (like drinking and panting). He also on a hypo-allerginic food (duck and potato) and extra fiber (Metamucill) is added. He CANNOT tolerate anything else--including anything related to chicken (including eggs). He's also taking a medication called Azathrioprine. That is a cytotoxic drug to chill out his immune system as IBD could be an auto-immune disease. I do hope that your vet will research Budesonide for you--it really worked well for my dog--don't think he would be here today w/o it. I had to have it compounded for us--used Island Pharmacy. Please feel free to PM me if I could help any further. Sorry just noticed that would might not be able to PM yet--contact me directly if you would like tracy734@aol.com
  2. 87lbs? Well, my boy takes Pepcid every day 'cause of his steriod medication and the Dr told me that he should get 17mgs once a day (he weighed 70lbs at the time). Now because that's a tough dosage to give she said to give him one 20mg tablet (that's the extra strength size) once a day. So, I would think that you give give the same dosage. Regular strength is 10mgs and extra is 20mgs. I buy mine at one of the wholesale clubs-generic brand---very inexpensive.
  3. You truly have been blessed. So, many signs givin to us are often missed--guess you cant miss a rainbow!! Lucky you! I hope it brought comfort to you, I really believe that's why they try to connect--to bring us peace and to send love.
  4. Well, I must admit--I don't have a dry eye right now. It's comforting to know that many of you have experienced signs from your babies after they have passed. I recently lost my Emma to cancer. I was an absolute mess. The cancer came on strong and took over so quickly--she was gone in two weeks. Well, I got blasted with signs from her almost immediately and they were very strong for about two weeks. I still "hear" from her but the signs are less obvious. I recently adopted a new little girl, Shannon and she does in awful lot of things that Emma used to do. Maybe Emma's whispering in her ear
  5. I am so sorry to hear of Tucker's passing--I have tears in my eyes as I read this thread. I pray that your DH is not in pain and wishes for a speedy recovery. I feel the void you are feeling, I too recently lost a grey. It's not easy, especially when it is so sudden. After my girl had passed I knew she was okay because I had all sorts of signs from her. I know she was just reassuring me that she was fine. I believe that your Tucker is okay too--and someday we will be be together again. Run free Tucker-now you are a greyt angel! watching over your family.
  6. My Angel-Emma-died a few months shy of 12yrs. She had Malignant Melanoma. It actually started in her hip bone. I've been told that it's very rare for it to intially start there but, it did as the Ct scan proved. She just passed a few months ago. It's still a struggle not cry everytime I think of her. She's now my Greyt Angel
  7. Thank you I friend of mind had her grey attacked too. She did survive but, it was a long recovery for grey and owner. I now carry pepper spray on our walks-you can't be to safe.
