I looked for pics of Conner and Val having fries but don't have those pics in my online vault. I will have to dig and see if I have any.
Well I never said he wouldn’t eat French fries

Ahhh, those faces French fry bliss!
although, Conner preferred Sonic tater tots

I am so sorry As others have said, spleen issues can stay hidden and the suddenly blow up. My Molly had several weeks of some days not being “quite right” and other days fine with no real diagnosis (very good grey savvy vet). Ultrasound showed enlarged spleen and I opted for surgery which, in 20/20 hindsight was not the right choice.
I think you made the best decision for Logan, you would not have wanted to take him home and have a crisis to deal with, that would not have been good for him or you. Better a day too soon than a day too late, even if the day too soon is completely unexpected. -

Mark is brave! Or clueless LaVida looks less than thrilled at being used for a pillow.

Such talent!

Oh H*LL no!

I bought a memory foam fold up mattress to sleep on when I needed to stay in the living room with old/sick dogs. You may not want to make that investment, but places like Costco and Walmart have memory foam mattress toppers for pretty cheap that make sleeping on the floor a LOT more comfortable! I am glad he is feeling a little better.

Hope the vet has some more ideas. Have you consulted Peg?
As long as she doesn’t seem to be in pain, that is the most important thing right now.

Happy gotcha day Doolin! You sure landed in the right place

Now you have a teenager in the house!

None of my dogs ever had a bad reaction to gabapentin, I haven’t either, but the kittens I was fostering last year got some when they came home from their spay/neuter and one of them was stoned out of her little furry mind for hours. You just never know until you try.
Has she been tried on meloxicam? Old school, but I like it because the dosage can be precise to their weight. But some dogs don’t do well on it. -
I am sorry she didn’t get better news but at least this sounds manageable. I hope she can be comfortable.
