  1. Sending healing thoughts to you from MA. Hope Jeanie is feeling better soon!
  2. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. As I said, I feel a bit silly as this could very well just be a minor thing - it's more the thought that my man is getting old and we likely have more days behind us than we do ahead of us that has me feeling so sad. I'll post an update as soon as I get one. Hopefully it will be good news!
  3. Over the weekend Shadow popped up with a lump just below his back right knee. No pain, no discomfort, somewhat squishy and doesn't seem to be attached to anything. I took him in this morning and, at first, the vet thought it was just a fatty deposit. He aspirated and didn't like a few of the cells he saw, so sent off to pathology. I'll know more on Thursday or Friday. In the scheme of things this is probably pretty minor, but Shadow is almost 10 now and has aged so much in the last 6 months that his mortality is always at the front of my mind. He's my first dog, my heart dog, and I can't imagine how bad it will be when it's his time to go. Hopefully this is nothing and we have plenty of time yet. Fingers crossed
  4. Welcome from western MA! I grew up in CO (in Englewood) and we visited Glenwood Springs on many occasions. I miss my home state!
  5. Although I don't see any white coming in on my 2, I can tell you that they are shedding like crazy right now. They seem to do it right in the middle of winter every year. No idea why, just the way it is. We have fur tumbleweeds rolling through our dining room and handfuls of hair after every scritchie session.
  6. Ooh, ooh, ooh, I know who you are! You fostered my Tori I hope you like this site as much as I have! And
  7. I remember when Shadow got hurt a couple of years ago. His wound was across the back of his neck and he had a huge drain. I had sheets and towels everywhere, and my house still ended up looking like a crime scene I've never done so much wash and shampooed the carpets so much in my life! The sofa cushions were beyond repair by the time the drain came out, but hey, that's what slipcovers are for So glad to see that Grace is on the mend. Hope you have a happy holiday
  8. I'm so sorry that you lost Duke. He sounds like he was a wonderful soul...
  9. luvsmylilfruitloop, I'm sure you've been wondering why you haven't heard from us. Our mail has been held hostage all week as our mailbox wasn't dug out of the 20" of snow we got last week. We dug it out on Monday, but didn't get mail until I called and complained this morning You'll be happy to know that they took great care with the box (it's only funny because nothing was broken!) Hey, what's this box, mom? This is for me????? Well, I best dig in then! How'd you know that stuffies are my favorite? Ohhh, I really like this big stuffy (I tried to take a picture of her dragging it out of the box, but I wasn't fast enough!) I love carob chip cookies, too! Don't worry, I shared with my stoopid brother. (You can see her other new stuffy laying under her. She dragged that one out, too) On top of all that, we got a great treat jar and I got chocolates. I can't believe how much you packed into that box! Thanks so much for being a great SS!
  10. One boy here and, yep, occasionally he leaks He always has, just a drip or 2 here and there and it's no big deal except for that ICK! factor.

    Dweebis Kaneebis

I always enjoyed reading about Dweebis. I'm so sorry he was taken from you early. My thoughts are with you. Run free, sweet Dweebis...
  12. Just want to say thank you to everyone for sharing pictures (or descriptions!) of your pups and their holiday loot I've been starting every day here and it makes me smile to read about all of these happy pups! Everyone has been so thoughtful and generous with their SS's. Just a great thing to see. This, to me, is what the holidays are all about
  13. Dear Cowboy, I'm sorry you're not feeling well right now, but glad you got your gifts! You look very handsome in your new collar. Blue is definitely your color! Hope you are feeling well enough to play with your stuffies soon. Thanks for sharing pictures - it's my favorite part of being a Secret Santa. Hugs and scritches, Jenn, Shadow and Tori
  14. I was just stopping by, hoping you and Henry had a restful night last night. I'm so glad to see that you did
  15. Wow, what fabulous stuff! That Lucy is a gem
  16. I had a kitty that had several grand mal seizures and, with as scary as they were in a little kitty, they must be 10 times more scary in a big dog! Pookie always lost control of her bladder and bowels as well. Not fun, but you just do what you can do. It all gets cleaned up eventually You're a great mom for working so hard to get Henry's seizures under control. It may take awhile, but I'm sure you'll get there. In the meantime, it sounds like you're doing great (except maybe for the outside in your underwear part ) Hugs for you and Henry.
  17. I'm so, so sorry to hear of The Queen's passing. She was such a special gal and she has a place in many of our hearts. My thoughts are with you.
  18. My heart is so heavy for you. Please know that you are in my thoughts each and every day. I'm so, so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Lacey Laine. Please hug the Flashman for me - my heart is aching for him as well. Best wishes, Jenn
  19. We don't wait to open our Christmas gifts (I got mine in September ) so I figure, why make the dogs wait! We opened Shadow's package as soon as it got here. Of course, afterward I thought "I hope Remolacha didn't want us to wait" but she seemed ok with it. Phew! When Tori's comes we'll see if it says to wait until Christmas. I sure hope not! I don't think I'll be able to wait that long!
  20. Remolacha, Thanks for being such a great SS for Shadow. Not only did he get a ton of treats from Simply Treats, but I got home from a business trip yesterday to find another box waiting to be opened! Is this box for me???? This is what I got. They are beautiful greyhound coasters. Although it didn't make it into the picture, I also got a fabulous greyhound bookmark. Both of these gifts will be used often Shadow also got a real antler to chew on. It took him a while to get the hang of it, but he chewed it quite a bit last night. And last, but not least, he got a beautiful leather jingle collar! I was afraid the noise might scare him, but he loved it! We have a meet & greet next week, and he'll certainly be wearing it So thank you Jan for your wonderful and thoughtful gifts. They were a hit!
  21. Now that I know who you are, thank you so much Remolacha for the Simply Treats! We've never gotten them before, and both the pups are head over heels for them! Here are Shadow and Tori, not-so-patiently waiting for their treats. Tori thinks they're super yummy! And Shadow tried to hoover up any crumbs he could find Thanks again!
  22. I got home from work last night to a box from Simply Treats. Luckily DH had left it in the garage or it would have been gnawed open by the time I got home! Shadow got fluffernutters and carob brownies. Yummy! They smell soooo good! Unfortunately I spent the evening madly packing for a business trip, so no time for pictures. I'll post some on Saturday when I get back. The pups love them! Shadow is being nice and sharing with his sister, but has made it clear that she only gets one for every two treats he gets
  23. I got notification that one of my SS packages is on its way! Woohoo! (And yes, I know I'm a total dork and I don't care! ) Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody Goody goody goody goody goody goody goody
