From the Inn. No
Heading home for a soon. Hopefully the day girl shows up. She’s new and just a bit strange….
Halise
Lovely photos from Nate & Ivy
Today is a holiday there in O!C. We celebrate the old (and long dead) Queen Victoria birthday
PattyKake was such a good girl yesterday. We went through lots of woods and fields and saw lots of Trilliums
Then we went out onto a public trail (no motorized vehicles) and she was knot at all afraid of the many cyclists that went past us

Perfect day for taking Patty on an adventure
Sherrie! Glad to hear you and your house are OK!
Enjoy your outing, Ivy & Cherry
Once again…congrats on the win, Chris! So exciting! I saw some of the owners in a brief clip in the pre-race show. Will they ship him up to NY for the Belmont?
Patty and I are meeting DocMorag this afternoon. We’re going on a leisurely ride at the farm where her new mare, Marilyn Monroe, is boarded.

Glad FLizzie is OK today. I have never ever seen a possum! Maybe we don’t have them here And I would probably knot go to that graduation either.
Hmmmm. I kinda thought 95F was normal for Florida at this time of year. And I would knot be able to live there. I’m finding today’s 24C (75F) quite warm.
Oh. My. Nuttymeg. Have we got rocks! Beeg ones. Liddle ones. When you look carefully around most rural properties there are many, many ‘rock islands’. Those are the places that the original settlers used to pile the rocks as they removed them from the land while trying to clear it so they could plant their crops.
We love alla Mistress Zoo Stories
Any word from Sherrie ?
I rode Pansy The Purkle Schwinn to the Inn this aft. Did some laundry, chatted with the owners and some wonderful guests. And rode home. Easy Peasy

Drizzly Pretty boring morning compared to yesterday.
Glad FLizzie is eating.
Sorry playgroup is cancelled.
No snow! The large ‘white’ areas are rock. We live in the ‘Canadian Shield’, full of limestone and granite. The ‘white’ is limestone. Kingston is known as the ‘Limestone City’. The stuff where Bella fell is granite.

FLizzie
Good boy, Nate
There's Lacifer & Angus. She is a tiny little thing, isn't she?!
Louise & Sage
A sort of positive report for Sherrie
Bella is fine. Muched her hay all day. Her stifle is scraped and she's stiff. Could have been so much worse. I'll give her some Bute tonight. I roped off any access to that mammoth hunk of granite this aft.
This is the rock. She was on her left side at the bottom way down where you see the dark spot on the rock. The dark spot is her hair - she's black- and her legs were around those skinny trees. She is about 15.2, so not a little pony.
I am enjoying the yard photos!
Here is a view of our aged house and the dog yard. If you look closely you can see Joshi in there at the edge of the house. Also my deep purkle lilac.
Pap's sheds and my little garage. And Bruins flag
Not a very good one of the front
Our sign - and my trailer and lots of lilac bushes
The deck - it's behind my little garage and looks out over the horses paddocks

Lovely spring morning
Back’n’Forth FLizzie
Noah
We have lots and lots of lilacs here. I’ll try and get some pictures. They’re just now coming into full bloom.
I’ve had a scary adventurous morning. Bella did knot come running for her breakfast. Maggie was in a panic. We have a lot of granite rock here…huge mounds of it all over. Somehow Bella had climbed up on one and then must have slipped sideways down it, Landing on her side at the bottom - maybe a 6’ slide down’. She was stuck on the slope of the granite, on her side with her front legs on one side of a tree and her hind legs on one side of a different tree. Belly up to a wire fence, with tons of little trees entwined in the fence. I thought she was dead! But nope. She lifted her head. Ate some treats. I ran back for my wire cutters (always, always know exactly where your wire cutters are!) Though I might have to get the chainsaw for one of the trees. But once the fence was removed she scrambled up, with only one little scrape on her leg. I don’t think she was there very long as there seemed to be only one poop. Aa I type she’s happily eating her hay and seems fine.
My eyes are a bit better and my voice is starting to come back. I do have a cough now, so maybe it’s a cold and knot allergies. I took and Advil Cold&Sinus.
Meeting my kayak friend for breakfast. Our favourite place is closing forever on Sunday
-
Gorgeous day
Lacifer
Oh! I remember that Jimmy fellow!
Maybe some kind of cortisone cream will help those bites? It’s the only thing that helps black fly bites.
My eyes are a bit better this morning, and my voice is coming back. But now my sinus are stuffy….more like an ordinary head cold now.
I’m off to the Inn for an hour or so and then meeting up with my friend for our first paddle of 2024.
Sid will have to miss school…no way I can help kids read with googley eyes and crackly voice. And I’m sure the paddling will make me feel much better

AnnIE is home
Lukit Piggy. Howie, too
Sorry Dennis is knot doing well and seems to be giving up
We had invisible fencing here for many years - before we had Greyhounds - and it worked very well. We also had our normal fenced yard but had BillieJean, Bandit & Penny learned very quickly where the invisible limit was and we never left them alone in that area.
Hope Elizabeth's stinging ankles improve. I don't think we have fire ants up here.
My shot went well. I really like this Doctor. She's young and current and seems to really care about her patients. She recommended Allegra instead of Benadryl for my eyes. I have been putting a cold compress on them, which really helps and I think they're a bit better this evening.

DermaGel is great. I also like the ‘Silver Honey’’ Absorbine products.
It probably should be left open to the air. Can he wear a muzzle with a stool guard?

Going to rain
Safe travels to Patsy and Mister Patsy
Glad Jupiter seems better today. Two weeks of that medication seems a bit excessive!
Hmmmm. Sid and Joshi don’t like blankets of any kind. Kibo has a humongous comforter that he curls up on. Our Nigel had 2 blankets..one for snuggling on and one to cover over his ownself. He also made no less than 4 circles before he’d lay down.
I’ll be off to the ortho pain place for my left SI injection.
I also seem to have some kind of allergic reaction to and my eyes are super puffy and goopy. Started yesterday afternoon when I got home from school and I have no idea what I’ve come in contact with. I’ve ever been allergic to anything. I’ll get some Benadryl when we’re out but meanwhile I’ve had the only thing available, an Advil cold/sinus pill

Rainy rains
BoyHowdy. We had a wicked thunderstorm go through last night.
I feel your pain, Elizabeth. We’ve had the kitchen and bedrooms painted in the past month. The only room left is the living room and Pap will knot ever, ever give up his beloved paneling
Most excellent shopping results for Miss Patsy
I’m off to the Inn for an hour or so then Sid goes to see his anxious hiskool kids. And I can legally park in the handicap zone

I have 'Ripley' on my 'Watch List'. Love love loved the original Mat Damen movie.
Aunty Ann
Gorgeous flowers, Chris
My injection went well. Hard to know what kind of effect it has had just yet. These things can take a few days to settle in and o their job. I go back for the other side on Wednesday. And she booked me with her ownself for an epidural at the end of June.

Dreary day Maybe some T-storms.
Hope the Saluki is cooperative today
My Phone is not wanting to charge. Connection seems a little loose. Found a brand new charger and it is also a bit wonky, but starting to charge.
I’ll be heading to the Ortho Pain place this morning for a SI injection. And the other side on Wednesday I will get this nice Doc to get me an appointment with the Doc who does the spinal injections, as his office has not yet called me back.

Lucy. You're very lucky you didn't get hurt!
Sherrie
Hmmmm..... very strange about that bird. A cat ? Although you'd think a cat would have just taken the whole thing away. Can't see any sort of larger vermin like a coon or fisher burying it without shredding it first
I'm waiting for the barn swallows to return. Last year we didn't have as many as previous years.
My Calli was right back to being his normal self this afternoon.
We 'may' get more light display tonight but I can't see myself staying up that late.
My son met me for breakfast
I had the trailer with me as the weather wasn't looking too bad. Thankfooly there is a generous amount of parking area behind the restaurant as the Doctor/Physio/Chiro offices in that building are closed on Sundays!
Patty was a little bit sticky to get on the trailer, but then decided it was in her best interest. PlusAlso I had her dish of crunch She loaded perfectly 5 or 6 times. Whoos a gud girl?!

Going to rain Mother’s Day
I did knot get up to see any lights either. Plus also it was cloudy.
Sorry Mistress had an awful lunch and Wiki did knot get pizza for supper.
Hope that mindgrain has gone away for Candy’sMom
My Calli pony is a wee little bit lacklustre this morning. Could be the vaccines. Could be a bit too much grass. He did not clean up all his overnight hay. He did eat his breakfast and is eating his morning hay, but just seems a bit blah.
I’m heading out for breakfast with the skin kid and will go ride Patty.
-
O.M.G. Chris. Unbelievable.
Oh Ducky. Whew. Now breathe. Just breathe.
Oh My. Little Zavvi is getting lost in the garden
Grrrrrrrr Misser
MissPattyKake was a most excellent girlie today. We even cantered some 15m circles. And I felt very goo my ownself
The Widge looked a wee bit tired when his kidlet was riding him, as did a couple of the others. They got the last of their vaccines yesterday, including the one for ‘Strangles’. Many horses get reactions to that one. We’ve never done that one in the past, but Strangles has been spreading like wild fire in the Toronto area and 7 of our horses will be showing in that area this year. Widge & Patty will not be going there, but it’s very contagious and it could make its way back to our barn. Better safe than sorry
Pap has taken my car over to his BFF garage to get the snowies removed

Cool 5C. Going to rain
Ivy Cherry
Chris Unbelievable that they could treat you like that
I’m off to ride and hopefully get a haircut.…

Checking in to see how Chris made out at the bank
Oh! New windows for Ivy & Cherry
I do have a summery dress and a lightweight jacket. However, I'm leaning towards capris/leggings and a pretty shirt. Our 'Hudsons Bay' store used to have a decent petite section. Anything 'normal' is w-a-y- too long in the body/sleeves. This is a bring-your-lawn chair outdoor event. I need to be able to wear sturdier sandals/shoes as we'll try and walk there. The shoulder of the road will be easier than the designated parking area, which is not dress-shoe friendly!

Patsy. Not my idea of fun, either. Perhaps you need a sure-footed Donkey instead of a car.
It’s going to be an another hot day. I’ve had a nice nap and thoroughly cleaned Patty’s saddle and bridle. Just have to put the bridle back together.
Marilyn Monroe is lovely. She’s a bay roan..quite unusual. I think she’s a QH/WB mix? Not very tall- maybe 15.3. DocMorag is very tall/long-legged.
The new Desk gal arrived at 2 minutes past 7:00 as I was heading to the door and the manager was on his way in to cover. There was no ‘So sorry I’m late”, just a snotty look at me when I said “hurry up, you’re quite late and I have to get home now”. She was late because “I didn’t know that I’d get behind a slow driver’. She has no ‘customer service’ skills at all. Not good in the tourism business. Young people just have zero work ethic. Zero. Can’t really let her go - there’s nobody to take her place and the other one is not really any better. Sigh.
I do believe it is time for lunch!
