Omg, I just now saw this, and I'm so sorry! I haven't read every single post but it sure sounds like he could've gotten into some rat poison somehow. Rat poison has warfarin in it, which is the same as Coumadin...no one in your household takes blood thinners, do they? Any chance he could've gotten into something like that. Or aspirin?

I did see that someone mentioned vitamin K...I would certainly try that.

I was also thinking neck/back pain. Try holding a treat above his head...if he just looks up with his eyes, and doesn't raise his head to reach, then his neck/back probably hurt.

In the short term, if it's reasonably cheap to find out whether or not your pup has it, it might be worth knowing. If I knew that my dog had the gene, and say she/he had to have xrays taken for some unrelated reason, I would probably ask them to do the whole leg, as opposed to just one area. Or I might be extra cautious about my dog limping.
