He probably didn't like the slippery floors in the kitchen and he's fine now that he doesn't have to be on them.

I would try to push the skin back into place if you're not going to the vet. If it seems to dry to do that you could pour water on it and let it slide back in.

Oh no I'm so very sorry.

Why does she have to be crated at all?
-
Oh my...poor baby! So glad she's all healed!
What happened to her leg in those two or three pics?
-
This happened to me when I was dogsitting my brother's dog. He had it first and then my girl got it the next day. I think it was rawhide treats that they both got.

I'm thinking that something scared him, too. Maybe he hit his tags against the bowl, the noise scared him, and he slipped on the floor. Now the whole experience frightens him. I agree with him on an area rug or maybe moving his eating location to something that seems "safer" to him.

Oh those last two pictures are just too precious. I'm so very sorry.

Maybe he's just waiting to see what the humans are eating at dinnertime? Do you guys eat dinner in front of him but not breakfast? Is anyone sneaking him any table scraps?
I don't think I would worry too much since he's eating his breakfast. Is he maybe getting so much in the morning that he's just not hungry?

I would dogproof as best you can, close doors to any rooms you don't want him to go into, put his basket muzzle (kennel muzzle) on, and leave him loose in the rest of the apartment. As someone else already said, I would NOT crate him again. I would also NOT shut him in a small room -- most dogs will go nuts in that situation.
I would try this.

How heartbreaking...I'm so very sorry!

How does he get along with the lab? Are they buddies or does the lab annoy the greyhound...or vice versa, considering your lab's age? Is your grey completely cat safe? I always feel bad when one dog is confined and another has free roam.
-
Are you leaving him crated and letting your lab run loose?
-
Well, he doesn't necessarily have to stay in a crate, does he?

She's beautiful. Congratulations.

I try not to judge because I did let my first greyhound off leash. But I did learn, from people on GT, and I chose to never let my second greyhound off leash.
However, to have let your dog off leash, and then lost it, and then continue to do it...I have no words.

I know Jenn8's angel, Onyx had it. She can give you some advice if you pm her. I know that he adjusted much more easily than she did.
