  1. Thank you all so much for your kind, comforting words. They do help heal our hearts. This is Dazzle in her Gettysburg Hotel Room (Quality Inn Battlefield) on Saturday Feb 18th. Holding court on her bed, getting ready to host Holly, River, Tricia and Burke in her room for popcorn snacks and Cards Against Humanity. She loved being the hostess. :beatheart

  2. My girl left us peacefully on Thursday night. We were with her, in her bed, with her beloved sister Tangy, her comfy quilts, and her lullabyes. We were able to spend the weekend before in Gettysburg so Dazzie could have the hotel experience she so loved. Tricia, Burke, Holly and River joined us, and we had a happy, happy time. Tricia took this photo at Devil's Den on Sunday 2/19. Look at this smile!!!! Till we meet again, my baby girl. Mama adores you, always and always. :beatheart:beatheart Please let me know you're ok.....

  3. Our kids:

    Gracie - 10.5 - bone cancer

    Annie - 11 - kidney disease

    Steely - 11 - heart disease

    Payne - 11 - bone cancer

    Bindi - 6 - heart attack

    Twilite - 14 - old age

    Janie - 12 - collapsed esophagus

Sophie - 13 - did not wake up from a dental

Dazzle - will be 11 in March, and is in good health :-)

Tangerine - will be 8 in January and is in good health, except for arthritis from a badly broken leg when she was a puppy

Bindi's sudden death shattered us. The only consolation was that it was instant and we were there.

  4. Thank you. I've been limping for years . The death of my first hound, Gracie, in 1999 absolutely shattered me and it was years before I could accept she was gone. Her death punched me in the gut - it was so much harder to lose her than my beloved parents. So I understand the intense pain and grief we experience. It's frightening to feel so lost and out of control. I wish for peace and gentleness for us all.
