We hear there is a pretty little girl named Fran
Who has been matched with a very curious Hue-Man!
A Hue-man who wants to know what brand treats you eat . . .
As well as the measurements for your back, belly and hind seat! We'll be speedy about this, but will have to return, as someone...no names mentioned... but someone refuses to move her rump out of bed for me to measure!
For we know that you are but a wee little girl
With a sensitive tummy prone to the occasional hurl. Milkbones (the little ones, and we break them in half); Nature's Logic (Natural Chicken is her favorite); Newman's Own Organic treats (Peanut butter, yum!)
Secret Santa wants to know if there is anything you might possibly need . . .
Whether it's something to play with, eat, wear or give you more speed. Nothing she needs, but lots she wants. Typical girl. I've been teasing her with the screaming monkey sounds, and that drives her wild. She is going north for a few weeks this winter, will she need booties? This is her favorite toy (she has a green one). And her skin sister has introduced her to bling- they play dress up together.
And finally, we need to know what Fran's mom likes to eat,
So SS can include in the package for you, a special sweet treat! Chocolate.... w/cherries; Chocolate... w/peanut butter; Chocolate w/nuts; Chocolate.... w/chocolate? Chocolate with just about anything EXCEPT raspberry or orange.
We'll be anxiously awaiting your reply . . .

Perhaps it's this less than stellar poem keeping gryhndens away? Come out come out wherever you are!
Or the unfortunate fact that I have THREE mid-terms this week!!! Arg! I see the light... I do... not til June... but I do!! DH hides the computer so I am not tempted to set aside the books... he's sleeping now ... and the girls showed me where he hides it.

I have to see and smell something before I decide if I will eat it. I agree with the suggestion of including the recipe. And like someone else said, even if I won't eat it, I work in an office of full of food-a-holics, they eat anything!

My Fran is Sampson's half sister... She and Sampson have the same dad. The two look very similar.

I am hypothyroid and have to alternate between synthroid, levoxyl and levothyroxine myself.
Not to hijack the thread... but.... what advantages have you seen by alternating between the various meds? I only take synthroid (.274mg a day) but my numbers are never static and my TSH varies between .5 and 100+. Yes, I am aware that is a 99.5+ variation- not a typo, and the lab we use has the normal range .3-5.0. I just had bloodwork done last week, and it was smallest shift ever! .5 to 6.3. Needless to say doc doesn't want to touch anything- recheck in 2 mos. In all the years no doc (Endocrinologist or Internist) has ever suggested varying the meds.

I finally checked my girls... all perfect.. I mean normal, but they did NOT appreciate me lifting their tails!
Love the new siggy.

I see it, and I still find it hard to believe...
Off topic: When does Izzy become an official member of the family and get her spot in your siggy?

Congratulations! And welcome to your new home Wally!

Update Sun @ 8:44 PST
The vet just called and informed us that she urinated and there was no sign of blood. That is a very very good sign.
Penny is undergoing Heparin treatment to increase the number of platelets in her blood.
So glad to hear she is doing so much better... prayers still coming your way.

So sorry for your loss.

from Florida. You have a beautiful (are we allowed to call boys beautiful???) boy!

So glad to hear she is doing well. If there is anything I can do to help- let me know. Meanwhile, Fran and I have fingers and puppy toes crossed for a quick recovery for Dallas.

I think I met you at Petco recently with Fran-she is from BAGA,right?
Yes, she is. That was the day she picked out her new mouse toy, further proving that she is my "woof woof kitty." The group is wonderful... as are the dogs. Today was the day we were supposed to pick up Vicky at the meet and greet at Petco, but the prison kept her an extra couple of weeks for "advanced training."
Today is bringing a new adventure for Fran- introduction to a pool. Should be fun.

Please keep her on leash unless in a fenced in yard or area
She is always on a leash except when I take her to work with me. We have several areas where she can run safely, and there is no way out. I have read many of the posts regarding the missing dogs, and it was relaying those stories to my husband that convinced him. He has been around dogs all his life, so he thought he knew best- he knows now that greys are nothing like other dogs.

Congratulations and welcome to GreyTalk.
Greetings from St. Augustine. Where in Florida are you?
Thank you, we are in Tampa.

This is the best site! I have learned a lot about what our new favorite girl from reading the comments and suggestions- plus finally convinced my husband that it might not be such a greyt idea to let the not so little miss out without a leash. Thank you!
We adopted our first greyhound, Fran, in April and were all instantly in love. We have already adopted our second, Vicky, but are waiting on her arrival the first week in July. Here is a picture of Fran the day she joined our family and Vicky in prison...
The best way to describe Fran is to say she is a stubborn sweetheart. She wakes us up daily with hugs and kisses. She sleeps in her bed, as long as we are not in our bed. If we are in bed, she is between us. Fran loves to ride in the car, and runs to the door as soon as she hears keys. She has never met a stranger or a person she doesn't like (can't say the same about dogs- she doesn't like the one next door). She is finally learning to play, but like most greys, she prefers to sleep. Last week I started taking her to work with me, and she loves it. My boss brings her Jack Russell, and the two became quick friends- only problem is there is so much to do, there is no time to sleep! Therefore, I can only take her every other day, so she can spend the next day recovering. I think the JR is in awe of her running ability- he sits and stares as she tears up the courtyard. Fran is a collector, to our daughter's dismay- she has taken almost every single one of the daughter's stuffed animals. She has adjusted well to our two cats, and them to her.
In the short time we have had Frannie- we have spent a weekend camping at Disney's Ft. Wilderness (she loved it!) and took a road trip to Grandma's in Georgia where she passed the most important test- the Grandma test. Grandma loved her, and she loved Grandma (and her cheese). She had trouble with the stairs, but didn't give up once she figured out that to get where WE were sleeping she would have to climb them (going down was an adventure almost every time).
That trip brought up the need for a different vehicle (that was the weekend we found out we were going to get Vicky so we were thinking two dogs) to travel with- two kids, two dogs and all our luggage. What would be the best vehicle? I think we have decided to just rent one for trips (no car payments!!) but not sure the best one to go for.

Ok... hope I did this right, Fran is not in a cooperative mood today AND I had to use the yarn/tape measure trick... and the cat was pulling on the yarn... Ok, enough of the excuses...
Neck: 15.25 inches
Girth: 28 inches
Back: 30 inches
Hindseat?!?!? Do I dare ask?
Any other measurements, let me know and I will get the rest of the family involved... for now, have to go back to the books... should have two of these tests out of the way tomorrow!
