They look worn down to me. The same thing happened to my first greyhound's front bottom incisors after I gave him a cooked knuckle bone (the sort you can buy from pet shops): he enjoyed it so much that he ground his teeth down trying to get the last little bits of meat off. Needless to say, I don't give my dogs bones any more.

Will be thinking of you today

I wish I knew the answer to this . I have 3 year old brother and sister greyhounds, one of whom has lovely furry thighs and the other nice pink ones! Both were trained for racing but neither made the grade and officially raced. Sophie's thighs have actually got more bald since I've had her . I'm currently trying various supplements, such as kelp and fish oil, and also a coat tonic that claims to encourage hair growth. No improvement so far though.

That is upsetting news. I'm no expert, but many years ago I had a poodle with PRA (and cataracts). If my memory serves me correctly, he went blind very slowly, adapted very well and was very happy until he was euthanased for something else at almost 15.

How very scary. Sending healing thoughts and prayers .

I'm so sorry. I know how devastating it is to receive this diagnosis .
At least you still have some precious time left to spend at home with Chance.

We will be thinking of you too and praying that all goes as well as it can on Wednesday.

Thank you - I'm sure this will be useful for many people. We had a similar experience, in that the first vet we saw told us the x-ray was fine and that it was just a sprained shoulder; the second vet we saw, the same day, looked at the same x-ray and saw something suspicious, which was diagnosed as OS a couple of weeks later after a second x-ray.

What an awful thing to happen to you and your lovely boy Turbo . Osteo is indeed evil and took our lovely Teddy from us just a year ago.
My sincere condolences.

Piet looks like a very sweet boy

I'm glad that Hanna's doing so well and that you're feeling a bit better about it than you were.
The first thing I noticed when my poodle had PRA was that he was reluctant/hesitant to walk in the dark. At first we just thought he was scared of the dark, though, and didn't realise he was going blind.
