    Your vet sounds horrible :( . It helps so much to have a vet you can talk to about things you've read and there's no way he should be getting angry/defensive. You're worred about Jupp and want to do as much as you can for him and your vet should understand that and be willing to work with you. I've changed vet many times for various reasons, but I know it's not always easy.

    I have also had a very nice greyhound specialist in the UK ringing me going through what he would consider my options for me.

     

    Do you mind me asking who the greyhound specialist was - maybe I could add him to my list for future reference?

     

    Also, a note about Tramadol in case you do want to talk to your vet about it: when I asked my vet about it a while back he hadn't heard of it and we eventually discovered that it is called Zydol in the UK.

    I'm sorry the vets I mentioned were too far away but your vet should be able to refer you to a suitable specialist if necessary. I've been to the Queen Mother Hospital in South Mimms, Hertfordshire, a couple of times with my dogs and found all the staff there to be lovely.

     

    Even though you don't have any answers yet, it sounds like you have a plan of sorts now so hopefully you'll be able to get a little rest yourself. I know what it's like though - I'm a complete nervous wreck when either of my babies is ill!

     

    Pllease be sure to keep us updated as I will be checking for progress reports.
