  1. What a horrible nightmare for all of you! Thank doG you found her when you did and got her to an ER. She's a beautiful little girl, and I hope she's back in her own bed very soon.
  2. What a courageous, beautiful boy! Wishes for many more years of good health and pampering. I believe that's Dr. Guillermo Coutos holding Bosha - thanks to his ongoing dedication to the Greyhounds and to cancer research, we have reason to hope that many more osteo pups will have similar, happy stories to tell. Please let Bosha know that he has a fan club.
  3. RooMama, I've used Rimadyl for quite a few of my seniors, and none of them had problems with it. If you've already noticed improvement on it, it may be worth continuing, but I'd also talk with the vet about taking Zantac, Pepcid, or Prilosec concurrently to try to decrease the risk of gastritis or ulceration. Of course you want to give it on a full stomach too. I've used tylenol #3 for most of my osteo dogs with good results, if tramadol no longer worked. There are more potent narcotic pain meds, but then you have to weigh the side effects (sedation, loss of appetite, etc.) vs the benefits. Have you tried acupuncture and/or chiropractic? Teddybear sounds like a brave little sweetie! I hope you find a way to keep him comfortable and happy.
  4. I've used the same thing - both in the soft chews and also the regular chewables, and my fussy crew ate them happily. I usually buy them from KV Vet as their prices are among the best, and shipping is free. I just ordered a different brand from entirelypets.com, which is virtually identical to the Glyco Flex III but less expensive. If the pack won't eat them, I'll return them and go back to the GF III. I like the fact that it contains everything (glucosamine 1000mg, MSM, chondroitin, Vit C, anti-oxidants, etc.) in a large enough dose that I don't have to give 2-3 tabs/day. My dogs won't eat if gluc. powder is sprinkled on their food, so I have to opt for chewables. ETA - JointMax is what I just ordered.
  5. I'm so terribly sorry. Whistler couldn't have asked for any more loving parents than you and your husband.
  6. She's a keeper! Beautiful girl, who looks like she'd know her way around a Home Depot. And Gigi.... meet GIGI! My Gigi is also a baby, so if you're passing through the Concord, NH area, we can let the Gigi's get together to chew on cardboard, eat eyeglasses, whip toys up in the air, and gnaw on furniture. Jordan and Giselle (Gigi to her friends)
