Guest adriahna Posted November 28, 2004 Share Posted November 28, 2004 My Lily, a beautiful white canary, passed overnight, after several months of fighting cancer. She was a sweet, loving little bird, who blessed our lives for such a short time, only just over a year. She was always in such high spirits, even throughout her illness. Despite a tumor that disfigured her wonderful little face, her happiness shined through, and gave me such faith in life - an understanding that life, no matter how short or long, always offered something to be thankful for. Her dignity and grace, and remarkable personality, defied her tiny size and weightlessness - she was full of life and spirit to the very end. Her last day was spent chirping back and forth with her friend Wallis, and enjoying bits of apple and egg food - her favorite treats. That such a little bird can fill me with such belief in the beauty of life is a true testament to her charm and sense of self - we find miracles in God's smallest creatures. I will never forget her, and hope never to lose sight of what priceless gifts she provided me with. Fly free with the heavens' breezes, Lily - loved always and remembered forever.
