CharlieRhea
Good to read the info here. My 12.5 yr old German Shepherd has Sundowners too. Zylkene worked for about 3-4 months. She was put on Alprazolam which also worked for a little while and now diazepam as of last night which seems to help. She is full of energy all day and a good eater. I did put a Thundershirt on Rhea the other night which calmed her a little.

I think , just as we do, they get used to one drug then it becomes ineffective so you rotate. When the internist told me Leia would become immune to the Valium (Diazepam) she was correct but we went back to the Trazadone. A few days ago the Traz started not working too well so back on the Vlaium and for the last 5 out of 6 days,,,no 1-3 am wakeup calls !!!
