WHanson12
Greyt greetings to Everyone, We recently moved to York, SC with our 2 Grey Girls, Molly & Mae. I'm looking for a Greyhound savvy vet hopefully closer than 30 miles one way. I reviewed the vet listing on this site & found no one closer. York is close to Rock Hill; the NC border is not far at all, although uptown Charlotte is a ways for us. We moved here from the Columbus, OH area a couple weeks ago & were spoiled by the expert Greyhound care by Dr. Couto & his staff at the OSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Can somone also recommend a competent, good after hours emergency hospital (close by?) for Greys? I like to be prepared before something happens with our Girls. Molly is 10 years old with some worsening health issues & Mae is 7 years old in good health. Thank you for any referrals you can provide! I'm excited to join this wonderful group of Greyhounds lovers! So much info to read, I don't know where to start! ;o}} Wendy
Guest twoskinnydogs
Closest one I know of is in Denver, NC.....East Lincoln Animal Hospital. It may be too far for you but Dr. Melissa Irvin is greyt, Dr. Amanda Goodwin is a graduate of OSU and studied under Dr. Couto. Both Dr's are at same clinic. Looks like about an hour trip from York to Denver..... Edited May 24, 2012 by twoskinnydogs

My old next door neighbor who has a grey named Zoey takes her to I believe Catwaba Animal Clinic in Rock Hill, SC (803) 366-8188 . I am not sure of the vet's name but they know her. DonnaBehr
I had inquired about a Vet near Tega Cay, SC and sent an e-mail message to Julie Reck, DVM in Fort Mill, SC www.vmcfortmill.com SHE responded to me personally that her practice is greyhound savvy and she has several clients with greyhounds and managed to connect them all so they get together socially and to walk their dogs, etc. Turns out my girlfriend's sister uses Dr. Reck. WHanson12
Thank you, y'all, for your referrals! Sounds like there's a couple good possibilities! Does anyone recommend an emergency facility that has Grey experience? Does Carolina Veterinary Specialists have a competent reputation? Amy, our Molly girl looks very similar to your Maddie! I luv them all! ;o}}
