Charlies_Dad
Shelby is having a bit of hard time and we are trying to determine whether her panting may be caused by Dexasone which was prescribed by our vet for her back issue. While her walking is better, it's not great as she is very wobbly still and the panting is causing us concern. I have tried to see whether she is in pain by carefully feeling her over but she does not seem to be showing any pain. So the question is whether it's the meds? She is also only 100mg Gabapentin and has never shown these symptoms when she was previously on it. She is currently taking 1 4mg tablet Dexasone every other day now. Tks. tbhounds
Could be. Corticosteroids can cause so many side effects including panting.
Brooker914
Yes panting can be a side effect of steroids in dogs. Panting can be from so many things, including pain-but if you think she seems comfortable, it could very well be from the medication. Sending good thoughts to Shelby.
