Slippery Elm

Guest IHeartDogs

These two sites are very helpful, but in short form: it is 1 teaspoon into 1 cup boiling water and stir for a few minutes until it gets gooey, let cool then give 3-4 tablespoons 3 times a day, with or without meals(you can refrigerate the leftover gruel).

I never used the pills, but I would guess you can just break them open and measure the amount out. Hope that helps.

My vets instructions are to bring 2tsp slippery elm powder mixed in one cup cold water to a boil slowly, then let it cool/thicken. Add 1tablespoon honey to flavor (dogs only).

50lb dog give 30ml/2 Tablespoon every 8 hours.

75lb dog give 37ml or 2.5 tablespoons every 8 hours.

100lb dog give 52ml/3.5 Tbl every 8 hrs.
